The black, redesigned Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Kitfrom Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Kitbuilds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. which sturdy ,aluminum manfrotto tripod and a good quality head, would you use on a pentax 80ed spotting scope that will be used on full magnification thank you

A: For a sturdy, aluminum Manfrotto tripod with a head included, check out the 190XPROB tripod with MVH500AH fluid head: http://bhpho.to/1g9VOUs

Q: 2. does it tilt?

A: Yes, the center column does tilt. Loosen the locking key and pull the column all the way up. The column will then be able to tilt when you push it towards an opening in the collar. When you find one of the preset tilt positions you like, you can lock it down with the locking key. I don't think there are infinite tilt angles but there are several of which you can choose.

Q: 3. I have a nikon d3400 with a few different types of lenses. I wanted to take this camera and pick up this tripod for an overseas vacation. Is this tripod a good purchase or should i go with a different one?

A: My experience over about 6 months of use in 2016 is great. I use it with my Sony Alpha 7II with both 50mm and 24 to 240mm OSS zoom lenses. Very sturdy, retractable handles make for compact transport and storage. Very high quality build also means a bit heavier than lesser tripods. I'd buy it again. Worth ever penny.

Q: 4. Is this tripod enough to support Nitrotech 608 head? I'm trying to assemble a reliable travel tripod with good counterbalance head. Would the 190xpro4 be better?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 can easily suppor the Nitrotech 608 and whatever camera is compatible with it.

Q: 5. What's the difference between this and the cheaper 190X? What does the pro version offer that makes it worth more? I can't seem to find any difference in the description.

A: The Manfrotto 190XPRO series has a center column that can be put at 90 degrees. The 190X (without PRO) does not have the 90 degree feature.

Q: 6. Could you attach a Edelkrone slider to this while shooting a 90degree shot? Or a slider of similar proportions/weight?

A: With the right ball head, you can attach any mid-size slider to this tripod and shoot vertically. The tripod can handle over 15 pounds of weight. However, it's always recommended to add some weight to the tripod so that it doesn't tip over, and unfortunately this tripod does not have a hook under the middle column to connect a sandbag or camera bag. But if you can be creative and figure out a way to add more weight to the tripod, that would be the best way to go about it.

Q: 7. What are the biggest differences between this model and the older 190xpro model? Does the new features compensate the extra dollars for the newer version?

A: The new model has improved leg locks, lateral collar and leg angling hardware as well as improved sleeving in the leg sections.

Q: 8. What is the diameter of the base plate?

A: The diameter of the base plate on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod is 2.36" (60mm).

Q: 9. what is the difference between this and Manfrotto MT055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head? (other than there load capacity?)

A: Hi--the load capacity, the maximum height, the minimum height, the weight, and the folded length are different for the two tripods you are asking about.

Q: 10. What would be the best head to use on this tripod for purposes of taking overhead food shots with my Canon 5D Mark III? Thanks in advance. :-)

A: I currently use a Slik pistol grip with good ergonomics and safety.

[Flip Lock] Medium duty, quality built. I especially like the easy of the 90 pivot system. No tools, no "unscrewing" and parts. Feels sturdy.

The pan tilt head is a nice alternative to my much larger and more expensive Manfrotto geared head.

Great kit for the price for a portable unit / kit.

[Aluminum] the 3-way pan / tilt head is very useful for filming scenes from above/overhead! We are in an afterschool arts program and use it for our claymation class frequently.

[Flip Lock] I've owned a couple of lesser tripods for years. Had myself convinced I could hand hold any photograph I needed to take. So, those tripods seldom got used. I finally got it through my head that if I wanted my wildlife photos to be anywhere nearly as good as my friends I needed to start using a tripod for all the reasons anybody SHOULD use a tripod. Decided on the Manfrotto after reviewing others comments and evaluating my desire to spend big bucks on something I wasn't sure I'd use. I took the new tripod for a spin at a nearby National Wildlife Refuge and now I'll likely never take another hand held photo again. This tripod is well built and provides a solid foundation for my camera/lens. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.
