Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO4's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.2" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

[Flip Lock] I give this five stars even though I sold it, because in hindsight, that was a mistake. I wanted to lighten my load, so I sold this and bought the carbon fiber version. The weight is an improvement on the carbon fiber, but in real estate shoots, I'm frequently opening and closing the last sections of legs. With the aluminum one, the legs fell out by themselves when I popped the latch. On this one, they aren't heavy enough, so I have to pull them out. Creates more work with 8 or 9 pounds attached to the top of the tripod. Also the aluminum one just has that inherently more stable feel that you get with a heavier tripod. Personally, I'd recommend this over the carbon fiber. The ball head is very nice too, although I've only used it a few times. I typically use a geared head instead. 5

[Aluminum] This tripod is solid as a rock (without feeling like you're carrying one). I went with the aluminun legs in stead of carbon fiber because I use it for landscape and portrait work, and I think the 055 will outlast me! 5

[4] Its been a long time since I bought a tripod and the good one I had broke. I bought a cheaper one and it looked ok but just couldnt handle the usage. I had looked at other Manfrotto models and was less than impressed. In one store the leg fell of one when I picked it up. I still placed the order for the new tripod and all I can say is there is a big difference! The MT055Pro3 is really really nice. The head is awesome too. Its not for everyone and you dont want to travel with this thing but if you shoot table top work and tether your camera it is great for a small setup. It is rather heavy LOL! 5

[5.4 lb] I recently handed down my former Manfrotto kit to my daughter so it was time for new stuff. This kit is fantastic. Heavy duty tripod and this geared head is a monster. I recently did a large food product shoot with the old Manfrotto and while it worked fine, this geared head would have made it so much easier for shot setup and repeatability. Im very happy with this purchase and you cant beat B&H for the price. 5
