The Bright Tangerine LeftField 3 Kit for RED V-RAPTORfrom Bright Tangerine LeftField 3 Kit for RED V-RAPTORcombines with different interchangeable Bright Tangerine riser blocks and dovetail plates for compatibility with multiple different cameras, tripods, and gimbals. The optional riser blocks provide the correct optical height for each camera and can be swapped in as needed.

The LeftField 3 Baseplate Core attaches to any ARRI-standard dovetail or the Bright Tangerine Left Field ARRI-Style Dovetail Plate. Using Bright Tangerine's Open•Up quick release system, it allows you to quickly switch between shoulder rigs, tripods, gimbals, and other camera supports such as the KASBAH shoulder pad. It also features a sliding, locking base that helps achieve optimal balance wherever you mount it.

The Baseplate Core provides front and rear 15mm LWS rod mounts for attaching accessories. Other LeftField components, such as side plates, supports, and grips can be attached to dedicated mounting threads to build up a full cage.

A: There is only 1 sensor for the V-Raptor Camera. RED may create a Super 35mm DSMC3 Camera in the future but at this time the V-Raptor is the first and only DSMC3 camera. It is 8K in Vista Vision and 6K in Super 35mm.

Q: 3. Let me get this straight. This is advertised as an 8k RF-mount camera, but many, if not all, RF- mount lens will vignette. How can this be advertised as an 8k camera?

A: The RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR 8K VV + 6K S35 Dual-Format DSMC3 Camera (Canon RF, Black) (B&H# REVRAPTOR) is advertised as 8K due to the resolution of the sensor and maximum video resolution of 8192 x 4320. True, not all lenses are capable of covering the image sensor, but this camera does offer that option.

Q: 4. Will this allow the front of the lens to move back and forward slightly as it focuses, such as with a Contax Zeiss? (has 80mm custom cine ring on front)

A: Since the purpose of the Bright Tangerine 114-80mm Threaded Adapter Ring for Bright Tangerine 143 to 114 Rubber Donut is to interact with with a rubber donut, we feel there is some play for lens movement.

Q: 5. Does this camera come with a PL mount?

A: No it does not. It comes with an RF Mount. It is possible to use PL lenses using adapters like the Metabones Lens Mount Adapter for ARRI PL-Mount Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera (B&H # MEMBPLEFRBT1 MFR # MBPL-EFR-BT1)

A: the camera was recently announced and has not started shipping yet, red hasn't provided a list of approved 3rd party accessories yet, hence we are unfortunately unable to provide any concrete answers at the moment.

Q: 7. Will there be auto focus? What about face and object tracking AF?

A: The Raptor V models will support PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) similar to the RED Komodo. Face and Eye detection has not been implemented.

Q: 8. what adapter ring do i need with the tokina cinema ef mount 11-16 lens? no front diameter is listed.

A: Hello Adam to mount this lens it has a 77mm filter thread so you would need B1250.1071 which is 114mm -77mm

A: Yes it should. Both of the lenses you listed, B&H # SI1835T2CEFM and B&H # SI14T2CEFL, have a 95mm Front Diameter. This kit includes the 114 to 95mm Clamp-On Ring.

Q: 10. Would the RF to EF mount ND work on this camera?

[ARRI Dovetail] First camera cage system from BT and it's awesome. I bought the original Kasbah system alongside the Misfit kick back in the day and was impressed by the functionality, quality, and their efforts to keep things light weight while still strong/solid. When it came time to get a cage for the Burano, I knew I wanted to try BT over the other options that were first to market apon its launch. The side rails connecting top and bottom inspire confidence for mounting things pretty much anywhere on the rig. The sliding top plate is slick, I'm getting another one for quick swaps to my movi alongside a BUD plate for the bottom. The D handle is solid and comfy. Paired with my Kasbah shoulder rig, its the quickest to build and comfiest to shoulder all day compared to other systems I've tried/built in my AC days. You won't regret it! Also the customer service is TOP with BT. They just called me within 15 mins to get clarification on a support email I sent regarding plate compatibility. Who does that these days?! 5

[ARRI Dovetail] This is THE solution for add rods to your komodo and being able to go from tripod to handheld in literally 2 seconds. The latch design is perfect and clamps down tightly to your dovetail plate. The placement of the tightening knobs for the rods is nice. I was initially going to go with the 8Sinn baseplate but after careful review I noticed that the knobs for tightening the rods interfere with the other knobs. In my opinion, I saw this as a possible hinderance to the ease of use I was looking for as I'm regularly in fast paced situations where struggling with any piece of gear is unacceptable. If you can afford it, you won't regret it. Its a deceptively simple tool but a must if you care about your gear working flawlessly and not worrying about fiddling around with the quirkiness that can come from some of the cheaper solutions. 5

[Baseplate] Really loving this system so far. The dovetail plate is super secure with a great quick release. I mostly started looking at this because of the top hand brace, which always seemed like a weak part of the fx6 if you plan to load it with extras. Adds rigidity all around with convenient mounting points. 5

[0.725 lb] Is it expensive? Yes. It is flawless and perfect? Yes. I just love everything about it. My only maybe SLIGHT complaint, is I wish it had some Rosette mounts in this kit, but I easily added the BT side plate to finish it out! 5

[0.725 lb] I had originally bought the standard komodo baseplate from Bright Tangerine but realized it only had one screw and would twist on the camera showing off alignment of my matte box etc. This DJI version has tabs that fit into the base of the komodo and prevent twisting. It does cost more but is so much better. 5
