The Bright Tangerine LeftField 3 Baseplate for Canon C100 C300 C500from Bright Tangerine LeftField 3 Baseplate for Canon C100 C300 C500combines with different interchangeable Bright Tangerine riser blocks and dovetail plates for compatibility with multiple different cameras, tripods, and gimbals. The optional riser blocks provide the correct optical height for each camera and can be swapped in as needed.

The LeftField 3 Baseplate Core attaches to any ARRI-standard dovetail or the Bright Tangerine Left Field ARRI-Style Dovetail Plate. Using Bright Tangerine's Open•Up quick release system, it allows you to quickly switch between shoulder rigs, tripods, gimbals, and other camera supports such as the KASBAH shoulder pad. It also features a sliding, locking base that helps achieve optimal balance wherever you mount it.

The Baseplate Core provides front and rear 15mm LWS rod mounts for attaching accessories. Other LeftField components, such as side plates, supports, and grips can be attached to dedicated mounting threads to build up a full cage.

A: Any accessory that has a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 thread is compatible with the SHAPE V-Lock Quick Release Baseplate.

A: Hello Julia,Thank you for your question! The baseplate in this rig was not designed for the C100 and C300 MKii. It was designed to fit the C300 mark i. It can work, but won't be ideal and might not respect the optical center of those cameras. For instance, the C300 mark ii is a bigger camera, so if you want to add a mattebox, it might not be centered. At that point, we cannot guarantee it will fit perfectly. Q: 9. Is there any material difference between this shoulder pad and the Shape Compact Revolt? I’m aware this is supposed to fit the c500II/c300iii, but what does that actually mean? Or is it just branding?

A: The SHAPE V-Lock Quick Release Baseplate for Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III (BH #SHC52BP) includes an adapter plate that elevates the aforementioned Canon cameras to a proper optical center. Otherwise it is the same as the SHAPE Compact Revolt Shoulder Baseplate (BH #SHBP20).

Q: 10. I'm looking for a rig that has a quick and easy transition during events from handheld mode to tripod. Would you recommend this?

A: You can screw a plate to the bottom of the baseplate. So, if you are willing to leave the baseplate on and rails then it would be fast.

[ARRI Dovetail] Albeit fairly expensive, the mount is comfortable and light. Changing around the rig is simple and easy. I use this with my C100 and have immensely enjoyed the easy of setup and breakdown as well as the comfort while shooting. I have needed a counter weight, which is not included. Overall, I highly recommend. #sweepstakes 5

[Baseplate] I had originally bought the standard komodo baseplate from Bright Tangerine but realized it only had one screw and would twist on the camera showing off alignment of my matte box etc. This DJI version has tabs that fit into the base of the komodo and prevent twisting. It does cost more but is so much better. 5

[0.725 lb] The product does exactly what it says it will. It is a quality construction and works well. Sometimes the tightening knob hits the bottom of the camera body, but this is a minor minor inconvenience. 5

[0.725 lb] This was my third base plate, so i was not hopeful. I was wrong - it fit perfectly! The plate lined up with all existing holes on the C-100 including 4 smaller holes ( they provide the screws) which, when used, prevents the plate from twisting, and it works beautifully - SOLID AS A ROCK. They also provide choices to connect your tripod plate (i use a manfrotto plate) and have 2 connection points, with different size screws, so the plate will not twist - and it does not - SOLID. I read the bad review, and i can only suggest that he did get a BAD ONE. The unit comes with a set of 12 aluminum rods that fit perfectly, and i have not had any issues with the single screw that tightens both rods. Now , that said, i suppose the screw could STRIP OUT after so many uses, but that remains to be seen. This unit is solid as a rock and not to heavy, and after all, if something does happen they mention a LIFETIME warranty on their video. It's a solid unit - Enjoy! 5

[ARRI Dovetail] My c100 shoulder rig had a cheap camera mount that allowed my camera to spin slightly which I hate, so I got this Shape rail block/mount, and its very nice and solid, no spin anymore. I also have the shape handles and shoulder pad. I love the Shape stuff, they make very high quality gear thats not over priced. 5

[0.725 lb] This is THE solution for add rods to your komodo and being able to go from tripod to handheld in literally 2 seconds. The latch design is perfect and clamps down tightly to your dovetail plate. The placement of the tightening knobs for the rods is nice. I was initially going to go with the 8Sinn baseplate but after careful review I noticed that the knobs for tightening the rods interfere with the other knobs. In my opinion, I saw this as a possible hinderance to the ease of use I was looking for as I'm regularly in fast paced situations where struggling with any piece of gear is unacceptable. If you can afford it, you won't regret it. Its a deceptively simple tool but a must if you care about your gear working flawlessly and not worrying about fiddling around with the quirkiness that can come from some of the cheaper solutions. 5
