Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these wheels mark up my white Cyc floor?

A: Our stands feature non-marking Tente Casters. As long as they are kept clean they won’t mark up the floor.

Q: 2. In the photo featuring the base, what is the black clamp under the top spider that holds the legs?

A: Sorry that the photo creates some confusion, there is no black clamp in this stand, however you may see the part of the leg support that has a protrusion at the place of contact.

Q: 3. What material is the black plating on the steel surfaces?

A: The Matthews Baby Junior Triple Riser Stand (Black, 12.25') BH #MABH386020 is painted.

Q: 4. What clamps are available to attache for a small monitor?

A: It really depends on your monitor. If it's a monitor 9 inches or less you can get a matthews baby to 3/8 adapter and then attach a tripod ball head and then your monitor onto that for total flexibility. There's many ways to rig small monitors. You basically need to see what screw hole is on your monitor and then get the adapter for it. It's either 1/4 20 or 3/8 screw hole.If it's a bigger monitor then you need a different set up. I have a yoke set up for my 17 marshall monitor which marshall themself makes. Good luck!

Q: 5. Does it come with wheels already assembled or do you have to attach the wheels?

A: It comes already assembled. Best stand I ever had!!!

Q: 6. I see the load capacity will handle it but wondering about the size of the gear I'm using. Will this have a big enough footprint diameter to be stable enough (with sandbags of course) for a broncolor para 133 and siros monolight?

A: With sandbags on the legs this stand will certainly support your gear. This is a popular stand for use with large umbrellas, both constant and strobe lighting.

Q: 7. What is the diameter? (for storage clamps)

A: The main riser tube would be 1.75 inches.

Q: 8. Will this fit inside a lighting bag? Also, how does the stand fold down if the wheels are in the way? Can the wheels be adjusted to accord ate each other in order to close down tightly?

A: This is a fantastic light stand and I use it on location all the time. However, the legs do not collapse all the way and it is fairly large volume of area that is taken up because of the wheels. It may not be what you are looking for.

Q: 9. Did any roller bag to fit Matthews Hollywood Baby Junior Double Riser?

A: The Matthews Hollywood Baby Junior Double Riser Stand (Silver, 9.6') will fit in this rolling case: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1618174-REG/hprc_hprc6500wempblb_6500_wheeled_rolling_resin.html/specs

Q: 10. Can anyone compare this to the junior and senior versions? What is the difference? Tube diameter?

A: Matthews Hollywood Baby Junior Diameter: Tube (1.0")-- Leg (.75")--Top Riser (.75") Matthews Low Boy Senior Diameter: Tube 1 (1.75")--Tube 2 (1.5")--Tube 3 (1.25")--Leg (1.0")

[Chrome] Matthews has just amazing quality. Using this roll-around stand on laminate flooring, it rolls very smooth and leaves no marks. Very solid - like all my other Matthews stands.

[Optional] I have a Sumo 19 monitor with the Matthew's monitor mount. I've been using the Avenger roller stand but it wasn't too stable. That's not the case with this stand. It feels sturdy and I can more easily weigh it down with sandbags.

[Aluminum, Steel] Predictably super quality from Matthews, this stand is a very welcome addition to my kit. No more lugging a c-stand weighted down with lights and sandbags to different spots to fine-tune my lighting. Took this out on a remote shoot and loved, loved, loved the easy mobility it provided. I went with the baby junior based on comments that it is a bit lighter and better suited for remote as well as studio applications. Any concern I may have had that this isn't a substantial stand was unwarranted. It's rock solid. Super happy with this stand.

[Yes] These are fabulous stands and a SERIOUS upgrade over flimsy aluminum. The weight limit is easily exceeded with a Profoto D2, 3x4 softbox, and the necessary counterweight to balance it on a boom. Don't skimp on sandbags!

[15.5 lb] I was going to get a different Matthews stand and saw some of the reviews pointing to this one. Decided to buy one and try it and glad I did. Even in the box it’s not heavy. The wheels roll smoothly on carpet and solid surfaces. It is probably about 4ft collapsed so keep that in mind for bags or cases. The footprint is 42” which was perfect as my primary use in indoors. I needed a total of 4 and I ordered the other 3 within 10 minutes of unboxing. Well constructed and will last for years.
