The red Unistellar Odyssey Pro Smart Telescope (Red)from Unistellar Odyssey Pro Smart Telescope (Red)lets anyone view and photograph celestial wonders in our solar system and deep space without the complex equipment and knowledge required for traditional telescopes. The view appears on a micro-OLED display in an eyepiece on the side of the optical tube that mimics the design of traditional reflector telescopes. Using the Nikon High Precision Optics mirror system, the reflector-style optical tube enhances the view with autofocus for all ranges and special technology to combat light pollution. Simply use the app for Android and iOS to choose the object you're interested in—the Odyssey Pro will find it and track it while you observe or capture content. The Odyssey's Smart Star Finder technology autonomously targets selected celestial objects. Choose from the list in the Unistellar app and let the telescope point and track. There's no need for complex settings, and you can experience the breathtaking wonders of the cosmos without delay, enjoying the details of the Orion Nebula or tracking the deployment of a passing comet's tail.

Developed in collaboration with Nikon, the Odyssey Pro's eyepiece combines a sophisticated lens assembly with OLED micro-display technology for ultra-high contrast. This precision optical assembly enables the image to be projected to infinity, providing optimal visual comfort as well as the palpable sensation of being immersed in space. Nikon Eyepiece Technology produces a clear image with deep blacks and vibrant colors, highlighting every detail of the observation.

The Unistellar app is available for iOS and Android. Its celestial catalog database includes more than 5000 nebulae, galaxies, planets, etc., and its star catalog consists of 37 million stars. The Odyssey Pro comes with 64GB of onboard storage.

Unlike traditional telescopes that require switching eyepieces for different magnifications, Odyssey Pro lets you travel from our solar system to the farthest corners of the visible universe without ever needing to change instruments. Everything happens automatically for seamless observation. It's easy to navigate quickly between Jupiter's red spot, the distant Triangulum galaxy, and the Orion Nebula's pink tones, all while maintaining the same observation quality.

Even in very bright urban areas, Unistellar's Deep Dark Technology denoising algorithm purifies the telescope's imaging on the spot, revealing a black background as intense as the depths of space. The Ring Nebula reveals its vivid blue and red hues, while the Cigar Galaxy appears from 11.4 million light-years away, showcasing the picturesque shape and details that give it its name.

Stellar Autofocus, developed by Unistelllar for astronomical observation, ensures sharpness throughout the observation by refocusing whenever necessary during observation. The result is sharp, clear images and optimal observation quality all evening long.

The Odyssey Pro employs a Nikon High-Precision Optics system with a 3.35" (85mm) primary mirror and 0.95" (24mm) secondary mirror and has a focal length of 320mm. Its 17.2 limiting magnitude means it can detect very faint deep-sky objects (most people can only see objects up to magnitude 6.0 unaided).

The Odyssey Pro is powered by a 3 x 18650, 3.7V USB-C rechargeable battery pack with five hours of runtime. Its operating temperature ranges from 5 to 95°F.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this be a good choice for viewing planets, I.e. Jupiter, Saturn, etc?

A: Planets appear small and are very bright in the eVscope. Because they are so bright, they can only be observed in "Live View" mode. The same is true for the moon, but it just about fits into the eVscope's field of view (its height does not quite fit). Can I see planets with a telescope? Image result for Can eVscope see planets? With just a small or medium-sized telescope, skygazers can easily observe planets. You'll be surprised how much of our solar system you can see! And you don't need a dark sky to view all of our solar system's planets; even under city lights, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can be easy to see with a telescope.

Q: 2. What's the storage capacity of the device? Can it save 4 hours solar eclipse time lapse pics?

A: The ZWO Seestar S50 50mm f/5 All-in-One Smart Telescope has 64GB of internal memory. Since the photos are only 2mp, it will easily store photos taken during an eclipse.

Q: 3. What are the interior dimensions of this bag?

A: The Unistellar Telescope Backpack interior dimensions are 25.5 x 10 x 7''.

Q: 4. Can I add wheels and a cover for the front?

A: The manufacturer does not make casters specific to this rack, however, a set of aftermarket casters would be fairly easy to install. There are security covers available, that attach to the rack on top of the gear in the rack.

Q: 5. Does it photograph planets well?

A: The Unistellar eVscope 2 114mm f/4 GoTo Reflector Telescope + Backpack is for deep space and does not provide proper magnification for planetary viewing.

Q: 6. Are the references to time in the App all based on Chinese time?

A: The time is based on your smartphone and location when using the ZWO Seestar S50.

Q: 7. Can I attached my mirrorless camera to this telescope with an adapter? And if so, what adapter do you recommend?

A: The Unistellar eVscope 2 114mm f/4 GoTo Reflector Telescope has a camera built in and there is no other way to attach another camera externally.

Q: 8. Do I need WiFi and Bluetooth connections to operate my SeeStar S50? Is Bluetooth alone adequate?

A: Both wi-fi and Blue Tooth are needed to use the Zwo Seestar S50. Please ensure your phone or tablet has access to the Internet(mobile data or Wi-Fi).

Q: 9. Do I need to use AstroNet if I do not plan on sharing or posting images?

A: Yes. Astronet is the name of the app that is used in order to allow your smart phone to communicate with the ZWO Seestar S50. No one is ever required to share their photos.

Q: 10. What type of lunar and planetary imaging can I expect with the eVscope 2?

A: The Unistellar eVscope 2 114mm f/4 GoTo Reflector Telescope is fine for lunar viewing but planets will only appear as bright stars. The telescope lacks proper magnification for planetary viewing.

[30.42 lb] I purchased the Odyssey (regular, not pro) knowing that the image in the pro model's eyepiece was the same as the image on my iPad Pro. B&H shipped it quickly, and the packaging was terrific by Unistellar. I was able to image Comet 12P, Pons Brooks, easily in the bright skies in my DC suburb. Also was able to image many other objects. My use is EAA, not astrophotography , showing objects that my visual scopes cannot view well in light polluted areas. My grandkids will love sharing the view too. I need to spend more time on various objects, and then post process a bit. Great for galaxy season.

[30.42 lb] The sales staff was pleasant, patient and easy to deal with. I could recommend them for that alone, but I also paid $600.00 less than MSRP! What's not to like?

Now to the telescope:

If you're an aging amateur astronomer like myself whose eyes aren't what they used to be, I highly recommend this scope. It does everything the manufacturer claims. I am sooo impressed! I'm 60yrs old not what you'd call tech savvy. I watched a number of tutorials on the net while waiting for the scope to arrive, and when it came time to actually set up the scope myself, I found it was actually EASIER than I thought it was going to be. For first light I chose M51 the Whirlpool galaxy. The scope slewed to it, I hit the enhanced vision, and within 28 seconds I was seeing it as I never thought possible from my light polluted skies! Truly amazing. I felt like I was 10yrs old again glimpsing the rings of Saturn for the first time!

If you're on the fence, don't be. You're never going to see deep space objects like this unless you have thousands of dollars in astrophotography equipment and have spent years navigating the night sky. Wanna see nebulae in color? This little scope is a game changer!

[30.42 lb] I have been an astronomy buff for most of my life and is something I share with my young son. Hauling out a heavy mount and scope and other gadgets was fun, but a hassle. This scope is easy to carry and setup... it literally takes a couple of minutes. And not having to polar align every viewing session is great too. We have had great views of the Horsehead Nebula, Cigar Nebula, and many many galaxies, objects we could never see on our other, larger scopes. This is now our go to scope for everything even though we have much larger scopes.

[30.42 lb] The perfect way to transport the Unistellar eQuinox telescope. Excellently designed and fitted for this specific telescope. Padding
throughout the construction keeps the telescope safe and away from the other telescope accessories. A great, removable, padded case attaches with Velcro to the inside of the backpack to store a tablet, tools, or battery charging electronics. A specific pocket on the inside stores the telescope lens cover while using the telescope to avoid losing the cover in the dark. A padded pocket on the exterior is also large enough to hold a tablet. Tailor made pockets and straps on the exterior to stow the tripod to avoid contact and damage to the telescope. Lots of exterior pockets for personnel items. A rain cover in the very bottom pocket is attached to avoid losing it, and pulls up over the entire backpack. Makes for a nice compact package for transporting the telescope for short distances in a vehicle or backpacking into the deep wilderness. A perfect compliment to the eQuinox telescope.
