2 Input Processors

  • Input signals can be processed in pairs before being sent to the delay lines. The Transient controls suppress or boost spikes. The two nonresonant input filters can reduce the frequency range or even split the frequencies into two stereo bands with independent delay settings (set In 1+2 to Lowpass and In 3+4 to Highpass with the same Cutoff value).

4 Delay Lines

  • Independent delay modes: synchronized, free, or even controlled by MIDI notes.
  • The dark field below each knob is a modulation source selector, and the amount of modulation is controlled at the top right of the knob.

4 Main Filters

  • Resonant filters can be placed in various positions within the signal path. On offer here: 2 low pass, 2 high pass, band pass, band reject, all pass (phaser).

The Feedback Matrix

  • This is where you can specify how the delay lines feed into each other: The User Matrix option lets you freely route signals between all 4 delay lines.
  • The large control at the top adjusts the overall amount of feedback. At the bottom of the panel are the output level controls, allowing for normal and inverted polarity.

2 Effects

  • Prefeedback processing. On offer here: limiter, bit crusher, phaser, frequency shifter, lowpass/highpass filter, granular pitch shifter, diffusor (reverb-ish).

2 Compressors

  • Peak or RMS mode compression. In PeakComp mode, you can compress one pair of channels using a sidechain from the other.

[Download] Beautiful, lush, flexible reverb from Relab, whom I think are the best reverb developers outside of UAD at this point. The controls are simple but the tone-shaping abilities are robust. The 3 different algorithms each provide a different character of decay, and the ensemble modes provide absolutely gorgeous modulation on the tails.

[1 User] I am an electronic producer and use Ableton quite a lot. I recently acquired the Uhbik FX bundle and what can I say? This bundle is an amazing deal for the money! Each element of this package provides a powerful, complex set of options in a neat and intuitive package. The beauty of these effects is that they maintain their complexity without sacrificing a simple and easy to understand user interface.

[1 User] This is a fantastic sounding single oscillator synth. It offers something unique compared to BOTH hardware & digital synths. It’s almost like it should be mandatory in everyone’s synth kit.

[1 User] This compressor is exactly what I was looking for. Transparent, smooth, and powerful. The double-knee system is unique and sounds terrific. The auto-attack & release are so good I never turn them off. Lastly, the ability to add subtle harmonics to the output gain adds that little bit of glisten.

[Download] I bought this for the uniquely warm and dynamic electrical sounds it offered, unlike anything I had heard before. The software offers immediately accessible controls to alter the sound quite a bit, and these controls are easy to work with. The real challenge is under the hood, which offers an unbelievably intricate array of choices to make to fine-tune presets and create sounds from scratch. Given the complexity of this challenge, some who are interested in the sounds of Waverazor might consider its simpler version, Miniraze, as an alternative.

[Download] Reference has breathed new life into my Sony MDR-V6's which have been faithfully serving me for more than 10 years. The only qualm I've had with the Sony's are an apparent sibilance, even if it can be pleasant at times. Reference improves that problem (including an issue with bass) to flatten the response. This has helped immensely with mixing, but has also made general listening more enjoyable and less fatiguing. SONARWORKS has reviewed lots of headphones and rated them based on their before and after calibration performance, so if you're on the market for new headphones, that might be a good starting point for reference. They also offer an additional service for individual calibration which requires sending your headphones in so they can produce a personal profile for your headphones, as opposed to using the general profiles included with the software (you can also purchase a new pre-calibrated pair from them). That's all of course if you're looking for some kind of edge and really find yourself doing a great deal of work on headphones; it could certainly be worth the extra cost particularly for mastering headphones. Pairing this software with something like CanOpener (to simulate monitor crossfeed) will put you pretty close to a solid monitor mixing environment, so this is incredible software particularly for compact or mobile headphone-centric setups, or as a compliment to a studio setup that utilizes headphones in any critical way. Looking forward to using it with new headphones when the time comes. Highly recommended. Be sure to check the full headphone compatibility list to be sure they at least have a general profile for your particular model.
