  • In addition to the cold shoe mount with a 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom, the receiver comes with a magnetic cheese plate that provides flexible mounting options for camera cages and accessory arms.
  • The magnetic mounting system lets you securely stack a second transmitter right on top when you’re shooting two on-camera personalities. And Sennheiser offers a combiner cable that will allow you to record both receivers to a camera’s single 3.5mm input.

  • EW-D Smart Assist app (free download available separately) provides automated setup, operation, and monitoring using any iOS or Android device via Bluetooth. Auto frequency coordination creates reliable wireless connections for up to 16 systems, no wireless expertise required.
  • Remote access to system settings whether at camera or across the set allows for quick and discreet adjustments on the fly—without having to bring the transmitter close to the receiver. If your phone is not available, you can fully operate your system using the buttons on the receiver.

  • EW-DP is a wireless system that troubleshoots for you. Smart Notifications provide suggestions to errors that occur when setting up or operating the system. If your audio clips, Smart Notifications will suggest lowering the gain. When your battery is running low, the system will alert you.
  • If you try to operate on a blocked frequency, you will be prompted to select another. If your transmitter and receiver are not linked, you’ll be prompted to press sync. And if the talent accidentally mutes their transmitter, you’ll be notified and will have the option to disable the mute remotely.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I only need the XLR to 3,5mm cable. Is it possible to order only that?

A: Hi Dominic - the unbalanced XLR Male to 3.5mm TRS Male cable is called the CL 100 - it can be found here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/233893-REG/Sennheiser_CL100_CL_100_1_8_M_Mini_to.html

Q: 2. Can this unit record AND transmit audio at the same time?

A: The Sennheiser EW-DP SKP Digital Plug-On Wireless Transmitter/Recorder is not able to transmit and record at the same time when purchased from a USA retailer (such as ourselves).

Q: 3. What is different between EK 100 G4 and EM 100 G4

A: The EK 100 is portable, runs on batteries, the K is for use on a camera (K is for Kamera). The EM100 is designed for a fixed location; requires electricity I think the M stands for mountable.

Q: 4. Can this be used as usb interface?

A: The Sennheiser EW-DP EK Camera-Mount Digital Wireless Receiver is a wireless receiver, not a USB interface, and it cannot output audio via USB.

Q: 5. Can multiple transmitters be paired with a single receiver? Similar to the Sony UWP system.

A: No, the EW-DP EK receiver is single-channel only and only one transmitter can be connected at one time.

Q: 6. In terms of audio quality for streaming (using a Rode Caster Pro II), is it better to use SKP 500 G4 or EW-DP SKP?

A: The Sennheiser EW-DP SKP Digital Plug-On Wireless Transmitter/Recorder and the Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro Wireless Plug-On Transmitter both require their compatible wireless receiver, as well as a microphone, in order to function. Both systems will provide high quality audio when used with the RODE RODECaster Pro II Integrated Audio Production Studio. One system would not necessarily be better than the other.

Q: 7. Will this plug-in transmitter work with the EW-DX line of receivers? I'd like to replace my EW receivers and SKP2000 transmitte

A: No, the Sennheiser EW-DP SKP Digital Plug-On Wireless Transmitter/Recorder is not compatible for use with the Sennheiser EW-DX series receivers.

Q: 8. Will this work with the older EK 100 G3 wireless system?

A: Yes, Sennheiser G4 series components are backwards compatible for use with G3 series components. Just be sure that the frequency bands are the same on the receiver and transmitter.

Q: 9. How does it compare to wireless G4 500P?

A: The Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro Wireless Plug-On Transmitter uses analog UHF wireless technology for transmitting audio and has an RF bandwidth of 88 MHz with 3,520 frequencies while the Sennheiser EW-DP SKP Digital Plug-On Wireless Transmitter/Recorder uses digital UHF technology and has an RF bandwidth of 56 MHz with 2, 240 frequencies. The EW-DP SKP also functions as a digital audio recorder.

Q: 10. What is the max microphone SPL for this recorder?

A: The Sennheiser EW-DP SKP Digital Plug-On Wireless Transmitter/Recorder (Q1-6: 470 to 526 MHz), B&H # SE700080, is not rated for SPL; it works with just about any handheld or shotgun microphone.

[Camera-Mount] I really dig this set up. The 500 series is the way to go when it comes to range. I often use a boom operator, so it's great for a wireless set up. I almost gave it four stars because it's not exactly set up for the operator to hear what they are recording. An extra receiver is required for that. Overall, it's a great product though.

[552 to 607 MHz ] This pack is amazing has display names for our musicians to easily identify which pack is theres good rf management and sounds spectacular. Wish clips were better quality and there was a rechargeable battery option but those are small grievances compared to what u get for what u pay.

[Camera-Mount] These WILL pair with the G4 Tx's but you have to deactivate the pilot tone on both the Tx and the IEM Rx's in order to get signal from the Tx to the Rx.

[Auto-Scan] I am very pleased with the quality of this Transmitter-Receiver package. They don't give it away but it's worth the price. I coupled the Transmitter with a CANON model KSM8 dynamic Mic. I also have a SENNHEISER MODEL MKE600 shotgun mic for very noisy venues like being on-field FOOTBALL for NCAA games. It also works perfectly as the MKE600 has built in phantom power to service the Mic design. This combination is perfect for handheld interviews with coach staff, with a screaming crowd.

[1] Having owned the SR from Lectro, I like this better. Sure not the same power as the SR, but quality in build and sound are right there. And the tuning, channel search could not be easier. Love it

[56 MHz] need an extra bit of audio recorded on the go? Plug it in, hit record, and you'll have a surprisingly good quality file later. Sure, it's a bummer that you can't listen to it as you record unless you get the receiver unit, but I have been loving this as a stand-alone, quick option to get an extra sound source in a pinch.

[56 MHz] Lectrosonics makes great practical gear for on location work and this unit is nothing but great, using it as a single channel unit with the WM tx block 21. Using it for over the shoulder bag recording and as a on camera single channel receiver.
Easy to use and works great.

[Digital UHF ] I use these on set with a compatible G4 transmitter (you need to turn off pilot tone) for client headphone monitoring. Sounds much better than the popular 216mhz VHF systems.
