Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the given lens length, with or with the lens hood attached?

A: The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 70-200mm f/4 O.I.S. Lens is 7.05" in length without the lens hood attached.

Q: 2. where is the lens made?

A: The items country of origin is China.

Q: 3. I just received this lens and noticed a floating element that moves when I turn the lens end over end. Is this normal, like the focusing elements are free to move until the lens is mounted and camera is powered on?

A: While different manufacturers employ different mechanisms for various reasons within their lens (autofocus motors, image stabilization, etc), I believe in this case what you're seeing is part of their double-magnet linear motor AF system. It would most likely also be something that would only activate when the lens is powered.

Q: 4. Does the tripod collar also have a 1/4x20 screw hole?

A: Yes, the tripod collar has a 1/4" mounting thread.

Q: 5. What is the point of this lens? Wouldn't it make sense for it to be f1.2 or even f1.0 for the price?

A: compering to other 50mm 1.4, this lens has Optical Design 13 Elements in 11 Groups vs (nikon 50mm 1.4 ) 8 Elements in 7 Groups vs ( canon ef 50mm 1.2 ) 8 Elements in 6 Groups , Diaphragm Blades 11, Rounded , vs 9, Rounded , vs 8, Rounded that what makes this lens so good

Q: 6. Is this fully compatible with the DJI RS2 Gimbal?

A: The DJI RS 2 Gimbal Stabilizer can work with most lenses. The support weight is part of the concern. The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens is around 1.1 lbs and the gimbal can support up to 10 lbs. It will work but note, that when you zoom the lens you will need to balance the gimbal each time. Most use prime lenses when using a gimbal or do not zoom the lens.

Q: 7. Will this lens work on a Lecia SL body?

A: Yes, this lens is an L mount so it will fit on the Leica SL body.

Q: 8. What is the primary difference between this and the "non-pro" lenses. Is the glass the same, but different ring controls?

A: The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens would be the only 16-35mm lens designed for the Leica L-mount lens mount. The closest lens options to the above lens would be the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L, B&H # SI142428L, or the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L, B&H # SI185028DCLM. The main difference between the above lens is the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L would be wider and would be twice as bright as it has a constant f/2.8 aperture. Both the Panasonic and Sigma lens are considered professional lenses from the respective manufacturers. The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L would be a more economically-priced lens. It has a brighter aperture with a constant f/2.8 aperture and it has a longer optical zoom range, but the optical image quality would not quite be on par as the image quality from the professional lens options listed above. Build quality and optical performance would be main differences between "professional" lenses and standard or entry-level lenses.

Q: 9. Does it works on Leica SL2?

A: This does work on a Leica SL.

Q: 10. Does the manual focus ring have a hard stop at infinity?

A: There are hard stops at both end of the focus ring while in manual focus mode. This is available with a push/pull action on the focus ring.

[Multi Coated] I have Chiaro 99-UVBTS Filters on all my digital lenses. This Chiaro top of the line model fits all my corresponding mm lenses perfectly, has no IQ consequence and causes no setting changes due to nearly full light passing when installed vs not installed.

[Glass] I used zeiss for my 35 gm 1.4 and found image color more warm during shoot under Insufficient light. This makes the person skin color look a little strange. This problem was solved after I switched to PolarPro; the image quality and colors are accurate.

[UV] I love these filters, I used to buy B+W filters for the past 20 years until I bought and used my first PolarPro. I decided to switch given the frequent fake copies of B+W that started to appear in the market via Amazon. But then when I started using PolarPro, I realized the great quality of materials and advantages over other brands e.gr. The rugged side that facilitates removal, great optics and finishing
