[FUJIFILM X] Our shortest lens was a 70mm and we had a one time need for a wide angle lens to shoot in available light and a small budget. It's sharp and it was sort of fun shooting a non-autofocus lens.

[f/1.4] This exceeded my expectations. A very sharp lens that makes it easy to get a wide angle shallow DOF. It also works well for video (In my opinion) since it has hard aperture stops and has a smooth yet well friction based focus ring. Also great build quality.

[APS-C] I enjoy using manual lenses on my Fuji cameras, and this one's a bargain. At this price point, I can hardly ask for more.

I had previously used the 7Artisans 35mm f0.95 lens, which I found too bulky and heavy, plus more than double the price.

This lens fits what I needed just right. It feels solidly built without being overly heavy, considering it's metal and glass. It mounts and balances well on the X-T2, even better than the kit 18-55, which is mostly plastic. The focus ring is smooth and precise and I don't mind the aperture ring being clickless, since the aperture data isn't transmitted to the camera anyway.

Image quality is better than expected for the price. At less than a sixth of the price of Fuji's own 35mm f1.4, I'd say it offers 90% of the image quality. Corner sharpness isn't as good wide-open and of course it doesn't Autofocus, but for non pixel-peepers like myself, this is hardly worth spending $500+ more.

My one complaint is the hood doesn't clip or screw on, and simply falls off if turned upside down. I picked up a replacement separately.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive, manual-focus standard lens. Using it has been great fun so far.

[12] I use this on a Sony A7iii, I have no experience using it on half frames, but I would imagine there would be significant vignetting. Build is rock solid, very heavy, all steel and glass. Focus and aperture rings move as smoothly as I have ever used on a lens. Focus is super easy with the Sony manual focus assist (the little dancing dots) and very accurate.

Biggest problem? Can't truly focus to infinity. Not a problem because that's not what I wanted it for. I wanted something that had more of a "film camera" look to it, as the native Sony lenses I have, while great lenses, are a little "a sterile". I have found that "film" filters and presets are often too over the top, needed something more natural. This lens is exactly what I needed. For $200, you really can't go wrong, as long as you understand what this lens is for. My only gripe is that I wish it was 50-75mm range, honestly 35mm is a bit wider than I really wanted, but I would never give this lens up. I have totally fallen in love with it.

[1.245 lb] This is a great little lens. Heavier than expected, but in a good way. Doesn't feel cheaply made and smooth controls. Would definitely buy again I like it that much. Great little lens.
