A: I use this on several lenses. I can push it back to make it smaller, it is great for packing and taking on trips, it has never interfered with any photo when in full out mode or pushed back. Its is great, but I would buy two, once you begin using this, you will love it so much if you loose it or misplace it, it will drive you nuts. Hard hoods will be a thing of the past.

A: I purchased the short heliopan for the same reason - to avoid using the giant hood on an already giant lens! Unfortunately, if my memory serves me correctly, it DOES vignette. Despite being short, it lacks sufficient flare/taper for the 23mm field of view. The upside of having an identical diameter hood is that lens caps & accessories usually fit as they would the lens filter thread, but unfortunately it's no good here.My recommendation is a short flared 62mm screw-in hood. There are several of these on eBay. Usually very cheap & from China but would work far better & alot less conspicuous! If you wish to use a filter the screw-in hoods usually fit the front thread of the filter ring.I've since switched to Leica & some vintage LTM gear - the small size of these are amazing, especially given full frame. A: Most likely. There is a slight chance of viginetting with a 30mm and it can't provide the full protection a longer shade would with a long lens. Odds are it will be a good compromise for use with both.

A: I am not familiar with the application of this particular product (Sony VCLHGA07B Lens). The specifications say 62 mm diameter. As far as screwing the shade onto the lens, it should work from that standpoint. As far as providing the proper amount of shade for this focal length, it should. This is a wide angle lens shade, and I have not used this particular lens. The worst performance, I would think, that you would expect would be slight vignetting around image edges. I am not saying that vignetting would happen; I am saying it is a slight possibility. Keep this in mind; filters, shades and lens dimensions with the same diameters are interchangeable among brands. I have had good success with Sensei products from B & H on various brands of lens.
