Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it works on Leica SL2?

A: This does work on a Leica SL.

Q: 2. Will this lens work with the new Phase Detection AF of the S5 ii Lumix camera?

A: Yes Panasonic Lumix S PRO 70-200mm f/4 O.I.S. Lens is compatible with phase detection autofocus in the new Panasonic S5II.

Q: 3. Is there a tripod mount for this lens? How to support this on a tripod to relieve the stress of its weight on the camera lens mount? Just letting it hang off the camera, with only the camera body attached to the tripod would seem to weaken the lens mount, especially over time.

A: There is currently no lens support available for the Panasonic Lumix S Pro 50mm f/1.4 lens. While the concern is understandable, there have been no recent reports of such issues happening and such an occurrence is not common today due to more robust mount-engineering practices.

Q: 4. Does the tripod collar also have 1/4x20 screw hole?

A: Yes, the tripod collar has a 1/4"-20 mounting thread.

Q: 5. Is the given lens length, with or with the lens hood attached?

A: The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 70-200mm f/4 O.I.S. Lens is 7.05" in length without the lens hood attached.

Q: 6. Does the manual focus ring have a hard stop at infinity?

A: There are hard stops at both end of the focus ring while in manual focus mode. This is available with a push/pull action on the focus ring.

Q: 7. Is the specified lens weight with or without the tripod collar?

A: Unfortunately, Panasonic does not state if the weight is with collar or not, but the rule of the thumb is that the weight and dimensions are done without tripod collar, lens caps, or hood.

Q: 8. What is the primary difference between this and the "non-pro" lenses. Is the glass the same, but different ring controls?

A: The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens would be the only 16-35mm lens designed for the Leica L-mount lens mount. The closest lens options to the above lens would be the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L, B&H # SI142428L, or the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L, B&H # SI185028DCLM. The main difference between the above lens is the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L would be wider and would be twice as bright as it has a constant f/2.8 aperture. Both the Panasonic and Sigma lens are considered professional lenses from the respective manufacturers. The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L would be a more economically-priced lens. It has a brighter aperture with a constant f/2.8 aperture and it has a longer optical zoom range, but the optical image quality would not quite be on par as the image quality from the professional lens options listed above. Build quality and optical performance would be main differences between "professional" lenses and standard or entry-level lenses.

Q: 9. Does this lens work on leica SL? Someone say after few weeks this lens turn default to MF in leica SL, CL.

A: With a firmware update, this lens should work perfectly on the SL. Just make sure the manual focus clutch is not enabled if you want to use autofocus.

Q: 10. Does this lens expand when zooming or is it internal?

A: Yes, the length of the Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens will change as you zoom the lens. The most recessed setting is around 28mm, with the most extended setting is at 16mm.

[0.12 lb] I was looking for a UV filter that wasn't going to break the bank and the Moment CineClear UV filter definitely fit that criteria. Given the low amount of reviews on this, I wanted to see how it compared to Hoya/Tiffen/B+W filters that I'd looked at and it certainly doesn't disappoint. I would highly recommend one of these to anybody looking to add a little more protection to your glass.

[Glass] I purchased this rather inexpensive UV Haze filter for a medium priced, small 67mm Spotting Scope to be used by children, and young adults. And they are working out very well: to my surprise! I can detect no distortion, or degrading of the Birds being viewed! And they do help with UV Haze that we almost always have in the shore areas! For the price B&H Photo-Video sells them at in this size (67mm). They are a bargain. I would recommend trying one: if you want some objective lens protection, and to help cut down on UV Haze.

[UV] Inexpensive UV Haze filters purchased for use on fairly inexpensive Demo: 65mm spotting scopes.(I’m an intermediate, to advanced amateur Birding Guide) So far, so good. I could detect no distortion, or light falloff around the edges. Apparently a good dollar value on these Moment multi-coated filters. Only time will tell their true value and quality, and their ruggedness?

[77 mm] I added this to my X100V's tele converter to weather-seal it. Optical clarity is fantastic. Shipping was prompt. Plus, it adds a touch of color to the otherwise sterile silver X100V.
