Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anyone use these for AD600's? If so, can I fit 4?

A: You could fit three AD600 kits in the Pelican 1615AirWF Wheeled Hard Case with Foam Insert (Black)--four would not fit.

Q: 2. What is difference between Tenba Rodie roller 21 Temba rodie 21 hybrid and Tenba rodie roller air case? I cant find any details anywhere ? I am looking for a roller bag to carry 2 full frame bodies 500mm F4 300mm F4 TC couple of small lenses? At the same time I can take the roller as carry on or check in without worrying about damage to my expensive equipment

A: They all have the same exterior dimensions and are international carry-on compatible. The Roadie 21 and Hybrid 21 have the same rigid construction and are nearly identical. The Roadie 21 has a pocket for a battery on the back, and the Hybrid has backpack straps. That is the only difference. Both will fit a laptop in the front sleeve. The Roadie Air Case 21 is the only case of its kind in the industry. It has a super-rigid, patented wall construction that allows it to be shipped or checked as luggage, just like a typical hard case, but at a fraction of the weight. It has similar features to the other Roadies zipper lock, security cable, tripod pocket, add-a-bag strap etc. but it does not have a laptop sleeve in the front. However, not only is it the only Roadie that is checkable as luggage, it is the only case like it in the world. If you check YouTube or Vimeo or the Tenba website, you can watch a video that shows the difference between the three models. All three will fit the gear you described.

Q: 3. Can it fit 2 x Gripped Bodies (D810/D850) comfortably with all the lenses? The photos shown seem to just have 1 gripped body, and 1 non-gripped body on its side, so I don't know how 2 pro bodies can fit well

A: Depends how many lenses you carry. It re-configures quite easily so you can fit 2 pro cameras in the bag but you'll loose the lens space of course. It's a great sturdy bag and rolls easily. I wouldn't trade mine.

Q: 4. What is the purpose of the ring on the front of the Tenba Rollers? Seems like it is in an odd position for attachments or luggage tag. Thanks in advance.

A: The ring on the front of the Tenba Roadie Air Case Roller 21 is used for luggage tags, as well as other possible identification displays when working as a roadie.

Q: 5. Will the case carry 2 full frame 500mm F4 300mm F4 TC and a small lens along with laptop ?

A: The Roadie Air Case has some design changes that are required in order to make it shippable and airline checkable. One of those is that there is no laptop sleeve on the front since the laptop would be crushed in transit when buried under checked airline luggage in the belly of a plane, or boxes in the back of a UPS truck. This is the only Roadie without a laptop sleeve. In regards to your question about the lenses, both should fit easily. The most common 500mm 4.0 lenses have a diameter of 5.75 inches, and the case depth is 6 inches.

Q: 6. How many pro zoom lenses will this hold and camera bodies? I have 2 bodies and 6 lenses and 3 flashes.

A: It will easily handle all that gear. It's quite large. I would think you could get three full-size bodies, 6-8 lensws, 3 or 4 strobes.

Q: 7. Hi, I was thinking of using this case to store my camera equipment in. The picture shows the dividers that hold light. Are there enough dividers to store to pro cameras and several lenses, some are 400mm (nikon) in length? Thanks, Dennis.

A: Yes you can with no problems. When I travel for work I have found that I can fit1. Nikon D52. Nikon D3S3. Nikon 14-24mm4. Nikon 24-705. Nikon 70-2006. Nikon 200-4007. Nikon 16mm fisheye8. Nikon 24mm 1.49. Nikon 85mm 1.410. Nikon 105mm macro11. Nikon 300mm 2.812-? All the Chargers and spare batteries I'll need for the job.I would throw some silica gel packets in too. Gotta make sure things stay dry in all situations.TL;DR Yes it would make a fine storage case for gear you are not using.

Q: 8. Does it only come with bright-yellow padded dividers? Is there no black padded divider option? The photo with the yellow dividers hurts my eyes. :)

A: The options for the Pelican 1615 Air Case is to purchase the empty case, the padded dividers (only available in yellow), the Pick-N-Pluck foam, or the TrekPak insert. If you want a divider setup instead of foam, but do not want the yellow padded dividers, then the only other option would be the aforementioned Pelican 1615AirTP Wheeled Check-In Case (Black, with TrekPak Insert), B&H # PE1615ACTPBK.Pelican stated in their Press Release for the new Air cases that the Padded Dividers have been newly redesigned with a fully-sewn tub, felt exterior and high-visibility yellow interior, making it easier to identify equipment. The TrekPak system is a completely new divider system with rigid, customizable panels and locking pins.

Q: 9. There's no mention of a compartment for laptop (or laptop size). Please clarify. ?

A: Because of the unique hard case that can support up to 400 pounds, it does not have a compartment for a laptop or tablet. As much as I loved the case when I received it, I ended up returning it and will get the Hybrid version instead

Q: 10. Are these replaceable rollerblade-type wheels or the very poor hard plastic wheels found on some older Peli cases?

A: This is my first Peli case ... so can't compare/contrast ... but the wheel/bearing assembly appears to be replaceable ... glad to send you a pic of what I am looking at if that is possible here.

[Yes] I bought the Fractal POP Air solid side panels case because it seems to be one of the few cases with a non-glass side panel remaining. I’ve previously owned the Fractal R4 case and love the quality of Fractal puts into their cases they are really solidly built and always have a beautiful minimalist style to them with the POP Air being no exception.

My Fractal POP Air came with a side that wouldn’t remove itself, but that was no issue as B&H had a very easy and fast exchange process and I was able to receive a replacement within 5 days. The replacement arrived without issue and big props to B&H for the great exchange service.

On to the case itself the positive for me were the design, the space, and ample storage drive options available. With the POP Air I was able to easily fit a Xfx 319 Merc 7800 xt without issue and that gpu is huge. For the storage drives there are so many options to arrange multiple ssds & hdds depending on your needs. Cable management is mostly easy in the case. The area where I had issues was with trying to route some cables on the bottom of my motherboard through the side grommets where they couldn’t bend and fit correctly. Instead I had to route through the bottom grommets.

The biggest cons for me are that the usb-c front panel is a separate adapter that has to be purchased. Fractal really just needs to include that by default in this day and age. The other knock I have against it is that the grommets for cable wiring I would prefer they were rubber lined it would make cable routing a bit easier. But that’s really it on faults I have so far.

Overall tremendous value for such a functional and beautiful case from Fractal would definitely recommend to anybody and same goes for B&H buying and exchange experience both top notch.

[Yes] I am new to building PC with aftermarket cooler. Needed a wider case for DeepCool AK 620 which fit just fine. Case is very nice and allows more flexibility than I'm used to for cable routing and storage mounting options. Also mounted an optical drive at bottom front. When I put the magnetic cover over the optical drive it hits the button to open the tray. Not a big deal to me. Had a question about plugging 3 pin case fans into 4 pin connectors on motherboard but Fractal never responded to my ticket. Figured it out on YouTube. Would buy again.

[Yes] This case is the best case to get if you're shopping for a mid-tower but you want 5.25 drive bays, full stop. Or, alternately, if you're doing a budget build with components from two or more generations ago and you're not super worried about heat generation. Otherwise, a mid-tower that's more airflow-optimized and has room for more fans/larger radiators like the Corsair 4000D could be a better choice.
Because the fans are on the front of the case, it has a massive amount of room for a graphics card, but might struggle to pull in the air to cool a flagship. I've bought a full set of Noctua case fans and a 7900 XT for my final build (not pictured as it hasn't yet arrived, used older card for POST troubleshooting) so I might update with how the final build performs under load once it's arrived.
The case was easy to build in, even for a first-time builder (with experienced supervision) like me. The velcro was a fantastic touch for cable management - I'm actually thinking about buying more somewhere and replacing some of the bread ties. The power button has a satisfying clean click, and isn't mushy. The matte black surface of my variant looks functional and clean and most importantly, is more likely to survive being hauled back and forth between apartments than tempered glass.
Overall, for $80 plus $10 for the USB-C attachment, a great price for a mid-tower with 5.25 bays and massive graphics card clearance.

[Yes] I like my builds to be professional and clean looking - not into the see-through panels and RGB nonsense. This case is an absolute steal for the money. It looks so sharp, has amazing airflow, and it comes with 3 fans! The fans are quiet and good enough that I don't plan on replacing them unless they become noisy later on.

This is one of the ONLY good options if you need a 5.25 external drive (or two). This is one of the main reasons I found and purchased it.

The build quality is good, not stellar. I've had other higher-end Fractal cases that were made from much heavier-gauge metal, but at the price, you can't ask for more. It's still plenty solid, looks great, feels great, and its easy to build in. Zero regrets and would totally buy again if I needed another case!

[Yes] It arrived in perfect condition! I really like the case! it had room for everything I wanted to put into it with some to spare. The case has an opening for an optical drive which is nice, but my one complaint would be the lack of bracing on the tempered glass. I've heard that hitting the edges of the glass can cause shattering. I haven't had issues though! It's a great case and I love it!

[ATX] This case is really well thought out, all wires are tucked nicely on the opposite side of motherboard, extra compartment and frontplate have magnets and are easy to remove, design is beautiful and the price is right what more can you ask for?

[Yes] I appreciate the layout - it splits the main compartment into a section for the motherboard, and a section for all of the cables & SATA drives, promoting tidy cable management.

Both side panels are steel, and the power button is the only LED present. Combined with the quiet fans, I can keep this PC in my bedroom where I sleep. It's unobtrusive.

The front panel has a place for a USB-C connector, but you need to buy it as a $15 add-on; I feel like they could have included that in the base model.

[White] I liked this case. It is small enough not to be a giant desk top space waster but big enough to be easy to build in. And it was reasonably priced and looks great...clean, simple lines.

[Yes] The case was easy to use, and I thought the instruction booklet was just enough to help me through my first custom build. The case has easy access to all the cables, and plenty of paths to run all you need.
