Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The description mentions certain other triggers Will these trip Pocket Wizard Plus-III radios?

A: How this can work with other radio systems like Pocketwizard Plus III is the Cactus sensor needs to be attached via a 3.5 to 3.5 cord to the Plus III. When the Cactus sensor is set off it sets off the hard wired Pocketwizard which then can set off other Pocketwizards.

Q: 2. When was this camera released?

A: The Leica MP 0.72 Rangefinder Camera (Black), BH #LEMPB was released in 2003.

A: Yes, Leica MP can be operated without batteries for all exposure times, under any weather conditions.

Q: 4. which cable should I buy to connect this device to Canon EOS 7D mark ii (needs to be at least 20 feet long)? Thanks.

A: The LV5 has a 3.5mm port. The Canon 7D Mark II has a 3-pin shutter release. The proper cable would be the Vello 3.5mm shutter release cable for Canon 3-pin. B&H # VERCCC235. But this is not 20' long. Very soon Vello is releasing a 33' extension cord for this cable. In the meantime, the Canon 33' extension cord will work. B&H # CAET1000N3

Q: 8. How precisely do you have to line up the laser? We've tried a similar product but it's so picky that even a strong wind can push it far enough out of alignment that the camera will not trigger.

A: The subject will need to be precisely aligned with the trigger.

Q: 9. How do you connect the laser to your camera ? Do I need to get an additional receiver ? (Sony alpha and Nikon d7000)

A: The Cactus LV5 Laser Trigger works with the Cactus V5, V6/IIs. For a Sony E mount camera you need this, https://bit.ly/3wh6DXp.

[1024 x 768 OLED] I knew that real thermal imagers were not cheap, but I am very pleased with this one's performance for the price. With only a 256-res chip, I wasn't expecting a lot of detail, but I could easily recognize deer 200 yards away, and a rabbit at 80 yards. The sensitivity is very good as well: I can see my dog's footprints in the grass for almost a minute, and the water levels in my opaque water barrels are obvious.

[640 x 480] This Nikon Laser 50 is better than the 4K Black. I now have both, and did an AB test on them.

They range exactly the same, at about 3700 yards each(best case) and about 1900 on trees.

The main difference is the L50 has a Magnesium case, and will display angle or compensated yardage in the display.

The Laser 50 also comes with a 5 year warranty.

I'm not sure why Nikon called it a 50, and not a 4K Black mark II, but this performs exactly the same as the old 4k Black.

[1024 x 768 OLED] When I made up mind mind to buy one of these they were all out of stock. I called AGM and they told me B&H was a good place to back order so I did. It came in 3 weeks early. Thanks B&H. On to the item. I bought this as a companion piece to a Sightmark Wraith which is a digital scope. In brush or trees digitals are pretty much blinded by the IR glare. This unit is not. It will not see through things so don't expect that. I've played with this daily for 3 weeks or so and I'm not a technology person so here's what I've found. Detection range on cows and deer is about 500 yds. Recognition range on deer is about 250 +/-. I wear trifocals. Your mileage may vary. Small animals require some knowledge of what you're looking at. At 40/60 yds a crouching rabbit looks very similar to a cat or to an owl that has just caught a mouse. A fox can be hard to tell from a raccoon at times. BUT, you will know they're there. Humans and dogs are very recognizable at 150+ yds. Good security device. Features: the buttons are for bare fingers only - the color palettes are nice because light and temperature sometimes require them - the screen rotates, I don't know why but there it is - it will refresh ( screen freeze ) from time to time. The nature of the beast from what I understand. - the screen is not Leupold clear and the magnification is not useful because it gets to pixelated but that is normal for entry level devices - I haven't played with the camera. Read the instructions. - a good little unit at this price point.

[640 x 480] While there are many other more expensive units with higher resolution on market, this unit is just what you need to locate and identify game. It will identify game for very far away and depending on the size of the game, you can differentiate deer from hogs at distances of 100 yards or more. I was able to identify wild hogs and deer in swamps, fields and woods very easily. When you turn it on you may think the resolution is not sufficient, but the game show up very well, as well as people. For the price, its hard to beat.
