Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. May I ask if this camera is a brand new one or second hand?

A: This will be a new unopened item.

Q: 2. When was this camera released?

A: The Leica MP 0.72 Rangefinder Camera (Black), BH #LEMPB was released in 2003.

Q: 3. Does the compass show mils or degrees?

A: The embedded compass for the Barska 8x30 WP Battalion Binoculars with Internal Rangefinder (BH # BA8X30BWPB) is demarcated in degrees.

Q: 4. Does the threaded front rotate as focus is rotated?

A: The entire front of this unit rotates when you rotate the focus. The threaded front will rotate as well.

Q: 5. Can this be operated without a battery? Aside from the light meter not working...

A: Yes, Leica MP can be operated without batteries for all exposure times, under any weather conditions.

Q: 6. Can the EVF be used with any of the current Leica film cameras?

A: Because an EVF relies on an electronic connection with the image sensor, it would not be compatible with a film camera.

Q: 7. Can this use bluetooth and share to Facebook? :)

A: No. The MP .72 does not have Bluetooth or WiFi capabilities. We do have other M models that have WiFi capabilities but not Bluetooth which can be utilized to connect your smart device to the camera. Those would be the new M10 and M10-P. These models can be connected to your smartphone/tablet for using a multiple of options with our newly designed Leica FOTOS app which will be available on 10.24.18. Q: 8. is this a new old stock camera?

A: This camera is still in production.

Q: 9. which cable should I buy to connect this device to Canon EOS 7D mark ii (needs to be at least 20 feet long)? Thanks.

A: The LV5 has a 3.5mm port. The Canon 7D Mark II has a 3-pin shutter release. The proper cable would be the Vello 3.5mm shutter release cable for Canon 3-pin. B&H # VERCCC235. But this is not 20' long. Very soon Vello is releasing a 33' extension cord for this cable. In the meantime, the Canon 33' extension cord will work. B&H # CAET1000N3

Q: 10. The description mentions certain other triggers Will these trip Pocket Wizard Plus-III radios?

A: How this can work with other radio systems like Pocketwizard Plus III is the Cactus sensor needs to be attached via a 3.5 to 3.5 cord to the Plus III. When the Cactus sensor is set off it sets off the hard wired Pocketwizard which then can set off other Pocketwizards.

[30 mm] My 15-year-old Nikon rangefinder couldn't lock onto the flag unless it was blowing in the wind, which was frustrating. The 50i solved this issue, plus it indicates the ball-path yardage based on elevation change.

[384 x 288] very easy to use. Locks on target quickly and easily. Battery usage much better than expected. Used 5 rounds and battery still shows full charge. Very clear picture. works well with unsteady hands. Only drawback is no magnet mount for cart.

[384 x 288] I've owned some of the most popular rangefinders and used most of the rest at one time or another while playing golf with others. As a longtime Canon user, I was happy they jumped into this category with their optics and technology.
As a rangefinder:
+ Locks onto pin with prism immediately. -Faster than all the rest I've ever used, it's actually quite surprising how fast it locks on.
+ Unit vibrates when lock is established.
+ Numbers are crisp and easy to see in viewfinder. Integrated diopter adjustment for those who need it like me.
+ Unit is small, lightweight and fits in back pocket - I mostly walk while playing and wanted a small form factor. Always wondered why most of them are not smaller. Not an issue in my hand to hold steady while taking readings with image stabilization.
+ Rechargeable battery via USB C (no more searching for CR2s). Battery charge icon is lit in viewfinder each time unit is utilized.
+ Zoom function is handy to located far targets and even help identify golf balls- was on the tee side of a creek and wasn't sure whose ball carried the hazard. Used the zoom function to identify the ball from 20 yards away.
+Canon menu is simple to navigate and set the unit/change and modify.
+ Camera is an added bonus; I did not purchase it for that function but have used it and works to my expectations with a small handheld device. Same with the video.
- Only option that some will miss is the internal magnet that other brands have to enable the unit to be put on the support bar of a golf car and help you forget your rangefinder after golf.

[1024 x 768 ] This Nikon Laser 50 is better than the 4K Black. I now have both, and did an AB test on them.

They range exactly the same, at about 3700 yards each(best case) and about 1900 on trees.

The main difference is the L50 has a Magnesium case, and will display angle or compensated yardage in the display.

The Laser 50 also comes with a 5 year warranty.

I'm not sure why Nikon called it a 50, and not a 4K Black mark II, but this performs exactly the same as the old 4k Black.

[50 Hz] I’ve been using the X-Sight 5 for several months, and it’s become my go-to scope. The ability to switch from day to night mode with ease makes it versatile for all hunting conditions. Plus, the scope holds zero perfectly, even after rough handling. Perfect for those serious about hunting in all conditions.
