The Canon PIXMA G4270 Wireless MegaTank All-in-One Printeris a simple-to-use color printer designed to print standard documents, photos, envelopes, labels, and other media. In a compact form factor intended for the home or small office, this all-in-one PIXMA model features print, scan, copy, and fax functions. The print resolution is 4800 x 1200 dpi, and the print speed is approximately 11 ipm for monochrome prints and 6 ipm for color prints. A rear paper tray holds 100 sheets of up to 8.5 x 14" legal size paper, or 20 sheets of 4 x 6" photo paper. Whether using plain paper or other media, you can produce borderless prints, such as photos and marketing material, in up to 8.5 x 11" letter size. The included ink bottle set will produce approximately 6000 black-and-white or 7700 color pages in default mode. Q: 7. I previously had the 3200 Megatank, and the printer died before the first set of ink was gone. Apparently the ink overflow pad (?) was full and this was not fixable. I found that I needed to clean the print heads quite often, resulting in overflow. Is this printer the same in that respect? I do not want another disposable printer. Thank you.

A: Apparently all inkjet printers work the same, therefore they have to be constantly used otherwise the printhead will clog. This may also depend on the environment the printer is located i.e. humidity, dusty, extreme dry area, etc... In all these cases in order to unclog the printhead, cleaning cycles are required which uses ink & fills up the 'waste pads'. My advice is to use the printer minimum once a week (a nozzle check is OK) & leave it powered on all the time & in a regular temperature controlled room & you'll get the max of the printer.
