AI Sound Boost analyzes the incoming audio signal in real-time, while simultaneously using an AI algorithm to predict the loudspeaker movement and power response. The result is the ability to push the drivers to their maximum capability, fully exploiting dynamic range, maximizing volume and bass, while minimizing distortion.

If your phone or tablet is running low on power, you can use the massive 9444 mAh LiPo battery as a power bank to recharge your device. Simply plug it into the Xtreme 4 via the USB-C port.

If the large soundstage of the Xtreme 4's JBL Pro Sound is somehow not enough, you have the option of pairing it to a second Xtreme 4 speaker for bigger, stereo sound. You can also wirelessly connect the Xtreme 4 to other PartyBoost or Auracast-enabled speakers in order to share music across a wide array of available speakers.

The JBL Portable app lets you update the Xtreme 4's firmware, unlock new features, access product support, and the built-in EQ. Make custom EQ adjustments or select from one of the EQ presets.

With an eye on sustainability, JBL partially constructed the Xtreme 4 from recycled materials, and packaged it in FSC-certified paper that's printed with soy ink.

[Fabric, Plastic] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t usually run around town with these kinds of speakers, but I feel with the strap this one is a win, either while riding a bicycle or just hanging out at the park or in the backyard. I was very impressed with the packaging and the folding handles built into packaging were genius. Unboxing it, I was pleasantly surprised with a full size charging block and not just a simple usb-c cable. Now onto how it sounds. Most times Bluetooth speakers over-emphasis bass, this one does not! It’s quite impressive how well composed the sound is and the ability to control and modify 5 bands of eq in the app is awesome. Flat curve was pretty good but a small bit of tweaking and you can dial it right in. Overall very happy with the smooth playback despite it being over a Bluetooth signal. 5

[12 dBm] This little unit pumps out great quality sound, and the connection is easy! We're using ours in combination with Amazon Alexa and 4 Echo Dots, so we can have the same music around the house and outside for parties. Pairing to one of the dots is easy, and the JBL Extreme 4 outside sounds great! We're very excited for our next gathering.. 5

[2] Seems like a good, durable speaker. I primarily got it for use on the deck, & down by the lake when I go swimming. So far it sounds great & has plenty of volume for my needs. It also does a decent job when taken out on the boat. It performs so well for me, & with the option of linking to multiple units, I'm contemplating getting a second one to get true stereo sound. 5

[5.3] I have had my extreme 4 for approximately one month and the sound just amazes me. The speaker has the deep rich signature JBL sound that JBL speakers are known for. The louder the speaker the better it sounds, my football tailgates are so much better with this speaker! 5

[7.275 lb] I was looking for a new speaker and was going back and forth between JBL and Bose. I have always been a Bose guy but this speaker is so clear, clear, and sharp I most likely will be a long time customer. I love having the carry strap just wish it had a smaller handle too. Still five stars. 5

[12 dBm] I purchased the Xtreme 4 about a month ago. I can tell you that this speaker is definitely a step in the right direction compared to the previous models. It has great sounding bass and that genuine JBL sound but definitely amplified. The shoulder strap makes it ideal regarding easy mobility. 5

[>80 dB] I just got it yesterday and it can make noise for the whole car. You can hear a little bit of it if you are outside the car door is closed which is honestly impressive to me. My friends have told me that there is more bass in this model of Extreme, if you haven't owned a midsize speaker I would definitely pick this one over the Extreme 3 and that's coming from someone who owned the 3. Great battery life also. 5
