Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How bright would 400 nits be outside?

A: When considering direct sun usage, 700 nit displays are the baseline to outdoor direct sun viability. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. Can this cross convert HDMI inputs to SDI output?

A: The Lilliput 12.5" 4K Broadcast Director Monitor with SDI, HDR & 3D LUTS in Hard Case does not support cross conversion.

Q: 3. HI, can the A12 monitor part be removed and used as an on camera monitor? It would be great to have two uses for this.

A: Per Lilliput: The Lilliput 12.5" 4K Broadcast Director Monitor with SDI, HDR & 3D LUTS in Hard Case BH #LIBM1204KS works as a camera top monitor or work as a second monitor for any devices have HDMI or SDI output. But the monitor screen is not removable from the case.

Q: 4. Are the feet removeable?

A: Yes, the feet of the Desview S14-HDR 14" UHD 4K60 Professional Director Broadcast Monitor are removeable.

Q: 5. Does the N21 Pro comes packaged in the metal case as the N21 non-pro version, or does its bottom offers means to mount on a C-stand?

A: Our overview says that it will accept a case. However, it is not available from Desview at this time.

Q: 6. Can I use this as a field mon and connect it wirelessly to a Sony a7iii? If so, what wireless device(s) do I need to purchase?

A: Attached is a list of transmitters and receivers that will work with the Lilliput BM120-4KS and Sony A7iii. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/products/Wireless-A-V-Transmitters-Receivers/ci/16427/N/3907816634?filters=fct_video-inputs-transmitter_3931%3Ahdmi%7Chdmi-4k-ultra-hd%2Cfct_video-outputs-receiver_3932%3Ahdmi%7Chdmi-4k-ultra-hd%2Cfct_wireless-system-type_3928%3Atransmitter-receiver-systems

Q: 7. I have multiple Sony FX6's that are going to be used on set. Am I right when seeing this only allows one of them to show the HDR image? I'm really considering this product and I'd hate for that to be the only reason I consider another.

A: You're correct that the Lilliput 12.5" 4K Broadcast Director Monitor with SDI, HDR & 3D LUTS in Hard Case (B&H# LIBM1204KS) only supports HDR through its first HDMI port. However, an HDR image can still be displayed (albeit not looking great) through the other inputs. Theoretically, you could even use an add-on switcher attached to HDMI port 1 so that you could choose any input to be displayed through that particular input. (In such a case you'd also need a splitter in the line coming from each HDMI video source, in this case your cameras.)

Q: 8. Is that some kind of mounting hardware on the side of the case? If so, how would you mount it to say a stand?

A: There are side brackets with 1/4"-20 threads on the sides of the case.

Q: 9. How much does the monitor and case weigh together?

A: The total weight of the FeelWorld 17.3" Live Stream HD Broadcast Director Monitor (Carry-On Case) with the case is 27lbs.

Q: 10. Is this monitor 8-Bit or 10-Bit?

A: The Desview N21 Pro 21.5" is a 8 bit HD unit.

[3840 x 2160] This monitor is truly impressive. I extensively researched options to find the simplest and lightest 7 monitor available, and this one perfectly fit the bill. Its HDMI connectivity and remarkably bright screen make it ideal for outdoor use, surpassing both my built-in camera monitors and a smaller alternative I own. The fact that it doesn't require SDI was a non-issue for me.

While the user interface could benefit from a modern update, it's still serviceable. Navigating it can be a tad confusing due to some convoluted wording, and there are definite glitches that need addressing. One significant issue arises when outputting OSD via HDMI to the monitor: if, for instance, there's an on-screen grid from the camera, the monitor's zebra setting might mistakenly interpret the grid lines (as well as any white text in the camera's menu) as overexposed, which is rather inconvenient. Consequently, I've opted to refrain from outputting OSD and rely solely on the monitor's built-in guides.

Despite the somewhat flimsy plastic construction, it contributes to the monitor's lightweight design, which was my primary focus alongside brightness. Additionally, the monitor's aesthetic is pleasingly minimalist, with sleek bezels enhancing its overall appeal. Considering its price point, this monitor stands out as the top choice for a 7 display, provided you don't require SDI or dual battery support (I personally only needed one battery slot).

The only significant drawback I've encountered is that the monitor appears to draw power even when supposedly switched off, which is incredibly frustrating. As a workaround, I've had to use a larger battery or connect it to a D-Tap power source. On the bright side, it seamlessly switches between D-Tap AC port power and battery operation, offering some flexibility in powering options.

[LCD] This is my first portable monitor. Before purchase the main concern was whether there would be any audio or visual lag, and I am pleased to report that there is none that I can perceive (I'm an older gamer in my 40s). Both Nintendo and Sega mini consoles work well with the screen and the sound coming out of the headphone jack goes straight to my speakers without any delay. Nintendo Switch works fine and while I haven't had a chance to test PS3/4/5 yet, I'd imagine they should work fine as well.

Colors seem natural and vivid, especially when placed next to a cheaper laptop with weaker colors. Red looks red rather than orange.

When it came to portable monitors and gaming consoles, it was difficult trying to find a definitive answer on the internet as to which have lag and which don't. Compared to more expensive gaming portable monitors, this monitor at $200 was a smaller risk to take and I am glad that the risk paid off.

[254 ppi] This thing works great for smaller monitors and only takes a little patience to pop a 7” monitor on it.

[99.5% DCI-P3] The Elvid SRM-17X1D-4KHS is a beast of a monitor that can pack up to be incredibly thin. It can fit into a single rack space but, that's not how I've been using it.
Often times on shoots if we don't have a full-blown video village I'll at least have a table somewhere. That's where this monitor is great. Unscrew each side and slide it out and you have a monitor ready to go in seconds. And it's not just some small 7 inch monitor this thing is 17.3 and I often get oh that's cool when I set it up.
You can load LUTS(via USB port) into it and it has HDMI, SDI and ethernet. It also has the ability to daisy-chain other monitors which is great. It supports HDR and has a wide viewing angle.
It has all the standard monitoring tools I have come to expect from Elvid products as well as the ability to custom assign functions to 3 buttons. This thing even has at least one speaker in it.
I'm pretty happy with this monitor and keep finding new ways to use it.

[Stereo] This is a good cage. It comes with a good amount of hardware to start off with. You'll probably eventually need more depending on what you need to mount. One thing I've noticed is the handles are easily turnable even after tightening it down, but that's not a huge deal.
