A: The Leica SL2-S is not included in the Digital Cine Camera section because the cameras primary purpose is to be a stills camera, and though it does capture beautiful videos, it lacks several key features that differentiate it from the Cine Cameras.

Q: 4. Hi, what's the difference between the Bracket Set and Component ? Thanks

A: The Really Right Stuff L-Bracket Set for Leica SL2 and SL2-S is made up of 2 components. The Base Plate which goes on bottom of the camera. And the L-Component which is the vertical plate on the side of the camera. One has the option to purchase each individually, or get them together as a set. The L-Component is just the vertical side plate without the base plate. The L-Bracket Set has both the Base Plate and the L-Component.

Q: 5. Will this also fit the SL (601)?

A: Because the dimensions of the Leica SL (Typ 106) are not the same as the dimensions of the Leica SL2 and the Leica SL2-S, so the 8Sinn Full Camera Cage for Leica SL2 and SL2-S is not compatible with the Leica SL (Typ 601).

A: Yes. You will need to remove the safety stop screws from the PD travel tripod's clamp in order for this RRS L-Plate for Leica SL2/SL2-S to sit correctly.

A: When shooting with APS-C lenses or shooting in APS-C Crop Mode, the largest image resolution size would be 20.2 megapixels (5504 x 3664 pixels).

Q: 8. When using the M-Adapter L from Leica on the SL2-s with M style lenses, does the adapter provide automatic stop down, or are you viewing through the closed down aperture? For example, if it is an F2 lens, and you have the aperture set at F11, will you be viewing through the viewfinder of the SL2-s at F2 or F11? Also, I understand when using the adapter that infinite focus will be less then infinite on the lens. How does focusing of M lenses work out in real life?

A: According to Leica, the camera automatically switches to aperture priority when the adapter is attached. As for the focusing, a sharp image is achieved before the mechanical infinity stop on the lens is reached.

A: No, Really Right Stuff L-Plate for Leica SL2 and SL2-S is not the correct L bracket for Leica Medium format S TYP 007 camera. Unfortunately Really Right Stuff does not make a dedicated L bracket for your camera. You will need a universal Large L bracket but it will interfere with your battery chamber and cable ports.

Q: 10. How will this camera perform for startscape / Milky Way photography? I have an SL2 for landscape work but am considering adding either this or the Sony A7III for astrophotography.

A: This camera would be excellent for shooting a star scape or the Milky Way due to its high sensitivity.
