[Multi Coated] Filters are filters - sort of. In my opinion the little details matter. This filter is typical B+W - solidly made, good coatings, and reasonable price (if not cheap). I bought this to fit the new Leica D Lux 8 (43mm filter thread). A critical detail for that application is the filter ring has to be very low profile in order to use the auto opening optional Leica lens cap (or the JJC equivalent). Any filter you use must be very thin or the lens cap will not close properly. This one works perfectly. Another detail that's important to me is the resistance to smudges and retaining spots, etc. The coatings on the B+W filters (the better, multicoated ones) are resistant to dust and fingerprints and, when needed, they clean easily and streak-free with a good lens cleaning solution. I was a little hesitant about the titanium-look ring, but it's not a bright silver but a grayish finish. Overall great filter and the usual great service from B&H. 5

[52 mm] Its simple , its there to protect your glass from getting scratched. Not cheap made and good for its price. I have this all of my lenses. Does not degrade image. its a must have accessory. 5
