[300,000:1] I replaced UHD51A with this laser UHZ55. It's very bright with vivid color. The image is very sharp unlike UHD51A with fussy edges. I also tried UHZ66 which has 4000 lumens and 500k:1 contrast. The image shows washed faded colors. I really like UHZ55 performance after fiddle with the settings. The image can be shifted horizontally and veridically with the combination of keystone and corner adjustments. The audio is not used since I have a receiver. 3D is the lovely feature of this projector using active shutter glasses. B&H shipped this projector to CA in two days.

[1920 x 1080] Great upgrade from the 1080p previous version. In eco mode the fan noice is at a much more reasonable volume. Excellent picture and easy menus.

[Yes] I use my HD33 mainly for movies. So far I am pleased with the picture quality. Still in aww that a 140 screen could look that good especially with 1080 content....720 content of course is not as appealing to the eye but a good picture for that size screen. I must say nine foot ceilings are great to prevent hearing and running noise..the HD33 is pretty quiet on its own but the extra foot of clearance helps too. I read the distance chart and was able to place the projector dead center of the suggested range...setup was a breeze. The only downside I have is the refresh rate...but at this price its forgivable. I haven't had an opportunity to use the 3D feature yet. Still have to purchase the glasses. I wish optoma would consider donating a couple pair to the 33's buyers...but I'm sure that's the reason the price is so low. I only noticed the rainbow effect on lion king. Probably because its all drawn art rather than c.g. needles to say...overall I'm pretty pleased with it!!

[116% ] Great clean edge to edge quality. Easy setup, second Optoma Projector, this model had all the inputs I wanted, Including USB Flash Drive playback of mp4's.

[1.12 to 1.47:1] Everything is fine and everything works.
It can be seen that it was unpacked and not packed very well, plus I found a long hair stuck in the mechanical part of the lens. I ordered this product to Ukraine and still did not understand where it could be unpacked. Perhaps this could happen at customs. I’m not making a complaint about this because I don’t know who did it :)
The projector is super, I'm very pleased. Everything works as I imagined it, despite the fact that the instructions are written very ambiguous at some points :)

[Manual: 1.3x] This is an excellent 3D projector. There is absolutely, no cross-talk and no flicker at all, even with material that is not very well known for its 3D quality, such as Tangled, or Despicable me and Monsters vs Alliens blu ray 3D! It delivers very bright and perfect colour saturation even in daylight conditions in the projection room with very low noise! I saw no judder at all, even in very fast action scenes! The only problem is with its set-up, since there is luck of vertical, or horizontal lense shift! However, with a little effort, this is a disadvantage which can be overcome! DLP technology from Texas Instruments, and 3D-RF, or DLP-Link technology developed by Optoma, really deliver the great performance results, Optoma claims for these technologies to perform in its official site! ...And all this at a fraction of the cost other 3D projectors have! I'm off to getting the upcoming Optoma HD83 model for sure, especially if it sells at such low a price as the HD33 model!

[116% ] I purchased this projector to replace one we had at church. It runs for ~3 hours a week. It turns on quick and has bright colors. The room is brightly lit and the content is still very readable. Installation was very easy. The projector has a lot of image position adjustment options. I primarily purchased this projector because I needed a specific throw distance and there weren't many laser options for my throw ratio. The remote feels very cheap and does NOT have great range.

[9.48 lb] I have my HD33 sitting on my coffee table projecting directly onto a beige wall. There are 4 windows in the room. Talk about a bright projector, I watch movies, TV, and play games in daylight with an incredible picture. From about 12 feet the picture is over 11 feet diagonally. I bought two pair of the new optoma 3d glasses, they are much brighter than any other 3d I have seen. I am so impressed I have no reason ever to burn cash at a theater again. I bought it with a 3 year warranty and still paid less than anywhere else.

[1920 x 1080] This must be the best 1080p 3D projector available for the price. Amazing quality graphics for games and 3D cinema.

[1.12 to 1.47:1] I've had a few brands of projector over the past decade. For the price this one is great. Clear picture with manual focus. This was a sticking point for me as I tried a budget amazon projector recently that ONLY had auto focus. It would not provide a crisp, clear image in a darkened room without any external light sources. Immediately upon installing this Optoma unit, I became a fan. I also beats out the AAXA projector I had before for few years before it failed. Definitely worth a comparison while you are shopping.
