Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am using SONY ILCE-QX1 will this lens sports my camera or please suggest Which lens should I purchase ??

A: This lens is certainly compatible with your camera and there are many other focal lengths you can use. It just depends on what type of subject matter you are shooting. If you are shooting landscape then a wide angle lens and for portraits the 50mm would be good. You can click on the link below to view your options; https://bhpho.to/31a7t4T

Q: 2. these lens support fo sony pxw fs5?

A: I looked at the compatibility information more closely and and the E 50mm 1.8 OSS lens is fully compatible with that camera. Sorry for the error in the previous answer.

Q: 3. How fast is the autofocus? I use Nikon's 60mm macro for pet photography and I need to know if this new lens will be comparable

A: The autofocus on the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens would be just as fast as the Nikon AF-S 60mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor.

Q: 4. On the B&H 3D graphic, it says the ring on the lens is a zoom ring. Is this correct? If it is, does the zoom work with the digital zoom (on the a6500)?

A: Thats not correct, actually. The lens is fixed focal length - the ring is for manual focus.

Q: 5. Would this lens give me 50mm focal length or 75mm focal length on my A6300 ??

A: The focal length is 50mm. However, it will appear the same as a 75mm on a full-frame camera since the a6300 has a crop sensor.

Q: 6. Can it bokeh shots and is it good?

A: Hello. The Sony E 50mm f/1.8 is capable of producing photos with bokeh.

Q: 7. Will this lens work well with a NEX FS-100? Thanks!

A: If its E-Mount, it will work without any issues. From SONY Product page:The NEX-FS100UK is includes a Sony 18 200mm E-Mount lens. Sony's E-mount interchangeable lenses feature precision-crafted optics with aspherical glass elements for compact high performance, and circular iris mechanisms for smooth background defocusing. The supplied SEL18200(E 18200mm F3.56.3 OSS) with the NEX-FS100UK boasts 11x zoom power, a quiet AF motor for cleaner sound recording, and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with an advanced Active mode that lets you take steady handheld shots while walking around even without a bulky stabilization rig.

Q: 8. If you had to purchase 1 prime lens which would be preferred the Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS lens or the Sony E 35mm f/1.8 OSS lens? This lens would be use for vacations, indoor party, night. Thanks!

A: I'm glad you asked! As, I was shocked a few weeks back when I read predominately poor reviews for this lens. I've owned it for a year and find it to be indispensable. I've paired it with my Sony a5100 (GREAT camera) and absolutely have found it to of the highest quality across the board - image quality, build, functionality, reliability etc. It is my prime lens - hands down. It's always nice to have options, but on a budget, this is the best lens Sony has made that I've used personally. Hope that helps a bit :)

Q: 9. where is this lens manufactured ?

A: Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens country of origin is China.

Q: 10. Several customers said it come with a lens cap and hood? Is it Sony ALC-SH116 Lens Hood for this particular lens? Or they were wrong.

A: Hello. The Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS Lens comes with the following: ALC-SH116 Lens Hood, ALC-F49S 49mm Front Lens Cap, and ALC-R1EM Rear Lens Cap.

[Glass] I bought my wife a refurbished Nikon D3500 recently. Not a lot of extras included so I added them myself. I ordered a couple of simple UV Haze filters to protect the front elements. They work great.
