Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I still put the original cap when the hood is on my Hasselblad 45P lens?

A: The Sensei PRO 62mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood won't let you attach a lens cap.

Q: 2. what focal length is this hood for?

A: I use this on several lenses. I can push it back to make it smaller, it is great for packing and taking on trips, it has never interfered with any photo when in full out mode or pushed back. Its is great, but I would buy two, once you begin using this, you will love it so much if you loose it or misplace it, it will drive you nuts. Hard hoods will be a thing of the past.

Q: 3. Will this fit a Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm lens?

A: As the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens uses 62mm filter thread, the Heliopan 62mm Long Metal Lens Hood would be compatible for use with the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens. Do note that the Heliopan 62mm Long Metal Lens Hood is designed for telephoto lenses, and as such, you may experience some vignetting when using this lens hood on your lens.

Q: 4. Will this fit the Hasselblad XCD 45mm 4P?

A: Yes, this will fit onto your Hasselblad XCD 45mm f/4 P.

Q: 5. Regarding the heliopan 62mm Long Metal Lens Hood, what is its o.d. (outer diameter) ? And overall height/length ?

A: It is 64.0mm O.D, 29.9mm long, exclusive of threads.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Panasonic 12mm 1.4?

A: Yes it will work on 12mm f1.4

Q: 7. Can this be used with a Tamron 18mm - 250mm zoom?

A: The Sensei PRO 62mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood is compatible with the Tamron 18-250mm lens, but it might cause vignetting in the 18-24mm range.

Q: 8. Does this hood fit the Panasonic Leica 12-60mm f2.8-4?

A: Yes this Sensei 62mm Quick Clip Lens Hood will fit on the Panasonic Leica 12-60mm f2.8-4 lens.

Q: 9. Does this hood rotate clockwise / counterclockwise, or is there some level of resistance or locking to prevent unwanted spinning out of normal position?

A: The Sensei 62mm Quick Clip Lens Hood is a non dedicated lens hood. It screws on like a filter and unlike dedicated hoods it does not lock into position.

Q: 10. will this work with a Sony VCLHGA07B?

A: I am not familiar with the application of this particular product (Sony VCLHGA07B Lens). The specifications say 62 mm diameter. As far as screwing the shade onto the lens, it should work from that standpoint. As far as providing the proper amount of shade for this focal length, it should. This is a wide angle lens shade, and I have not used this particular lens. The worst performance, I would think, that you would expect would be slight vignetting around image edges. I am not saying that vignetting would happen; I am saying it is a slight possibility. Keep this in mind; filters, shades and lens dimensions with the same diameters are interchangeable among brands. I have had good success with Sensei products from B & H on various brands of lens.

[Aluminum] Works great for wide shots with a bright sky to be able to open up the darker field.

[Aluminum] I have just had the filter for a few days so I haven't given it a thorough test. However, I did take a few shots and got very pleasing results. I was shooting into a forest with a pretty bright sky. The forest was nicely exposed and the sky was excellent with lots of good cloud detail. The fact that the filter has a rotation ring made it possible to shoot in both portrait and landscape modes. I did not see any problem with color shift.
I believe that I will be keeping it on the lens when doing landscape photography.

[Solid ND] Works well. Just remember that if you are focusing through the lens, do it before you put on the filter. Once the filter is attached there is nothing but black in the viewfinder.

[Aluminum] Allows better exposure of the foreground in scenics. Placed vertically, it should also work well with contrasty doorways.

[Solid ND] I did a lot of research before deciding on Haida's filter set. The Haida filters are top quality at a slightly affordable price. I would highly recommend the Haida filter to other users.

[Solid ND] I have used many 10 stop ND's in the past and settled on a B&W but was never really thrilled with it. There was always something about the images that bugged me. I decided to test it , alone and then in front of a polarizer , each time I noticed a pretty noticeable drop in sharpness, especially fine detail smearing. Considering the cost of it this shouldn't be happening.
So I searched for a new one and found an intense review of 10 stop ND's and the Haida Nanopro MC ND 10 stop was part of it. It came out on top along side one other, but with the price of this filter it was a no brainer to buy and test out. I ordered it from B&H and tested it right away. Straight Image, Image with the ND, and Image with both the ND and a Nikon Circular polarizer behind the ND. NO difference in sharpness, ZERO. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the 3 , even at 100% zoom and beyond.
I tested it on Modern AI lenses, and Vintage Nikkor S and H lenses with single coatings all tested with the same result. No color cast either.
I went out with the Haida ND and the Nikon Polarizer and shot outside, long exposure with foliage and water. Same result. Sharp sharp sharp. All on a D810 in Bulb/Mirror up.
Haida has just won a customer for life.
