Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do these lenses work good with the Z cam E2 M4?

A: Yes they work well with the Z Cam E2 M4

Q: 2. When buying this lens, is it a true 35mm, no crop factor?

A: This lens is 35mm and will always be a 35mm. It is the size of the sensor that determines the Field of View (FOV) of the image. This lens is meant for Super35 sensors. Since Super35/APS-C sensors are smaller than full frame, it is the sensor that "crops" the any lens's image circle to that size. Since this lens's image circle cannot cover a full frame sensor, its image will always be cropped by a Super35/APS-C sensor. For the record, the image of this 35mm lens on a Super35/APS-C sensor will be equivalent of a 55mm lens on a full frame sensor.

Q: 3. What's the difference between theses and the $540 version?

A: Here are the differences: The Maximum Aperture T2.2 vs T2.1 The Minumum Focus distance 20" vs 18.9" The Lens Mount E mount vs PL/EF

Q: 4. Am trying to choose between the 35mm and the 24 mm for my bmpcc 4k. I have no experience with videography. I need 3 meike lens for music video filming and am gambling between 16mm, 35mm, and 50mm. I have seen that the 12mm and 25mm have more reviews. what 3 lens combinations would you suggest i buy? Thank you

A: A good standard 3 lens setup, for a micro-four thirds sized sensor camera (such as the Blackmagic pocket 4K), in the choices of Meike lenses, would be the 12mm (wide), a 25mm (normal), and 50mm (telephoto). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1502600-REG/meike_mk12t2_2m4_3_12mm_t2_2_manual_focus.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1451856-REG/meike_mk25f2_2m4_3_t2_2_25mm_manual_focus_cinema.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1539466-REG/meike_mk50mmt2_2m4_3_50mm_t2_2_manual_focus.html

Q: 5. Just want to have a Cine lense, will it sit on every MFT Cam? in this case a Lumix G95?

A: Yes, The Meike 25mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (MFT Mount) will mount on your Panasonic G95 camera model. The G95 has a MFT ( Micro four thirds) mount.

Q: 6. Is there a set with a case option?

A: As of right now there is no case made specifically for this model lenses. However, the case for the pervious model will fit: BH #MEMKCINECASE

Q: 7. What is the lens length?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (E Mount), is a special order item that we unfortunately do not have direct access to. The manufacturer does not state the actual size, but based on other Meike lenses which we can test, the packaging takes up about 2-3" in length and the packaging length is 6", which would put this lens at approximately 3-4" in length.

Q: 8. Would this lens work with a Blackmagic Pocket 4k camera with a .64x speed booster?

A: Yes, but an adapter will be needed. Please review the following adapter that will allow you to mount the lens Metabones T Speed Booster XL 0.64x Adapter for Canon EF Lens to BMPCC 4K Camera https://bhpho.to/2WixnVA

Q: 9. Will this lens work with a Blackmagic URSA Mini 12K in 8K or 12K recording? The lens states that it is rated for up to 6K.

A: Yes, the Meike 50mm T2.1 Super 35 Cine Prime Lens (PL Mount) would work with the Black Magic URSA Mini 12k. However, the quality and sharpness of the lens may not be as good as lenses that are rated for 8k sensors.

Q: 10. Would this lens work with the ZCAM E2-M4 with a .71x speed booster?

A: We would recommend using the MFT Meike as follows: https://bhpho.to/35Eiuyt

[T2.1] This is a perfect step up from photo lenses into Cine lenses. If your wondering if you will see a difference between a set of Sigma Art glass and this... You will! I personally think the falloff and flaring on these lenses are perfect for the Modern/vintage blend with a slightly warmer tone then DZO Primes I find these to be a little more welcoming to skin tones.

If you're wondering if this is worth the price tag. I'd say so!

[2.625 lb] The 50mm is out!

[33.6 mm] It has very very little if any breathing... almost no CA a full 330 rotation on focus covers a huge 45mm image circle and on my Red Gemini Looks fantastic...not over sharp like like my old Sigma art photo glass. - plus its proper metal housing has screw in filter options but I use a MB. You ca NOT go wrong here this punches well above its weight class. And unlike DZO Vespid does force you into a look- they have a very neutral look similar to lenses ive used like the Schnieder Xenon's for PL mount Cine these are a steal all 3 (yes I bought all 3 current avail 35-50-85)

[2.625 lb] I purchased a trio (24, 35, 85) L mounts, as a test for Lumix full frames before jumping to Red ecosystem. This was really great for moving me into cinema lenses and learning to smoothly focus as a 1 person shooter in most cases. I LOVE the 85mm, and even though we primarily use Canon CNE primes and the 30-105mm, Im not afraid to mix in the 85 mounted on a S1H at 6K for a 3rd shot angle..extremely pleased

[Canon EF] Feels real solid. I used to love the old Veydra mini primes and this is a worthy successor. Smooth focus and exposure rings. The flare is pretty decent in my opinion. The Bokeh is nice. For under $600 I couldn't ask for more.

[T2.1] A seriously good lens. Well built nice glass. Super sharp and easy to focus
I will be ordering the 85 mm. Anyone thinking of moving up to cine lenses you can't go wrong with theses lenses.

[T2.1] As far as affordable S35 cine lenses go, this one is the top dog. Unlike a lot of other popular lenses in its price-range, it has character; not a super-sharp clinical look. It flares nice, and has a great bokeh.

HOWEVER: I wish I would have known that Meike has no intention of releasing the other focal lengths anytime soon, which is a major negative. It's pretty absurd to release only one lens of the set and put the rest on the back-burner. So if owning the set is important to you, I would hold off until Meike releases the rest...whenever that may be.

Based on that, I would give a 0 star review, but the lens alone is outstanding.

[Canon EF] Surprised with the sharpness and image quality

[100mm] This lens has served well through the last 4 months. This lens produces a fantastic image quality. I am very picky when it comes to glass and the biggest thing I am looking for in a lens is little to no breathing. This lens produced no noticeable breathing when focused. Produces smooth, easy and precise focus pulls. Gears are smooth and easy to turn. Nucleus Nano had zero issues working with this lens and with such a large end to end pitch, it makes grabbing focus easy as pie.

[33.6 mm] I bought the 35mm,50mm and 85mm lens from the Meike Full Frame Line and I have to say I am very impressed. The body has a good build quality, and the image has what I I feel is an appropriate amount sharpness and contrast.

I used these lenses on a feature film in September, and the lenses did everything I needed them too.

I frequently use these lenses on a Red Komodo and a Black Magic Pocket 4k, and occasionally on other camera systems and I have been happy with the image they produce on every camera sensor I have put them on.
