Designed for up to 8K cine-style image capture and covering up to full-frame size sensors, the white Micro Four Thirds-mount IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens for Micro Four Thirdsfrom IRIX incorporates multiple internal and external design features. This 11mm lens will produce a classic wide-angle look or up to a 123° viewing angle in the 2.39:1 widescreen format, depending on your camera's sensor. External features include a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and a detachable 1/4"-20 support foot.

Internally, nine blades produce smooth, rounded bokeh, and four seals protect against inclement weather and dust. A Multi-Start Thread focusing mechanism delivers quiet, precise focusing even in wet or humid conditions or in extreme temperatures. The IRIX Cine 11mm is a wide 43.3mm full-frame lens that uses 16 optical elements, including four high refractive index (HRI) and two extra low-dispersion glass (ED) elements, to create crisp cinematic shots in resolutions up to 8K while keeping the focus breathing at a minimum. This lens features a relatively fast T4.3 maximum aperture and can be stopped down to T22.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is it worth getting this version of the m43 Rokinon 85mm t1.5 over the cheaper one ( Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine AS IF UMC Lens )? Is there a noticeable improvement in image quality? (I would need this for both video and stills head & shoulders portraits)..thanks for any feedback

A: Side by side, I would think that the image quality would be about the same. The more expensive DS or Dual Side lens line has features that come into play when you have a set of them. You get the Dual Side focus markings, unified aperture and focus gear ring distance, (simplifying lens changes) and color matching. If you do not intend to get a DS set and plan more casual use, then save some money and get the less expensive one. If you plan more intensive video use then spend the money, get a set of DS lenses and enjoy the benefits.

Q: 2. Does the Nikon version turn the focus ring on Nikon style, the opposite of Canon turning direction? I plan to use on a Speed Booster and the product picture sometimes can cheat us. Thanks!

A: yes, it turns like all Nikon lenses, infinity on the left of scale

Q: 3. Would this 11mm be equivalent to a 24mm on Super35 sensor, specifically the Blackmagic 6K Pro?

A: Used on the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (Canon EF) (B&H# BL6KPKCAMP) with its 1.6X crop-sized APS-C sensor, the IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC15EFI) will render a field of view that is equivalent in its effective focal length to using a 24mm lens on a full frame sensor-equipped camera body. If you instead opt to use the IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC11EFI) with that same camera then the field of view in terms of its its effective focal length would be equivalent to using an 18mm lens on a full frame sensor-equipped camera body.

Q: 4. does this lens fit and work with a canon 5D mark II?

A: Fits on a 5D M3 but doesn't communicate with the camera.

Q: 5. Is there focus confirm with the Nikon F mount?

A: There is not, but that is because this is a Cinema Style Lens which is fully manual for focus. It does not have any auto focus capability.

Q: 6. What changes and how does the " An adaptive focus ring" adapt from manual to follow focus use?

A: On the IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine Lens, the focus ring does not change, but rather, it is conducive to both manual use (by hand) and for use with a follow focus (motorized or manual), due to it's ergonomic design, equipped with 0.8 pitch gear teeth.

Q: 7. Do the Rokinon Cine lenses include image stabilization?

A: No they do not

Q: 8. What is the diferrence between this rokinon lens labeled in $399 and the same rokinon 85mm t1.5 labeled in $279?

A: The difference is more on the technical side, the more expensive version, the DS has better coating on the glass similar to the xeen ( same lens in cinema lens housing). The markings are also on both sides for pulling focus. The $279 lens is the first version which is great cinema glass in a photography housing, and not quite optimized for video but still usable. The DS $399 is a better attempt to make it more video/ cinematography friendly, The xeen with is the same lens, made directly to target cinematography. Hope that helps.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with any clamp on matte boxes or does the front piece protrude too much?

A: The IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Meters) doesn't have filter threads so there wouldn't be a way to get the adapters of the clamp on matte boxes on to the lens.

Q: 10. Will these Cinema lenses work on a Z Cam E2 S6?

A: Yes, the model with the EF mount will work with this lens.

[11mm] I really enjoy this lens. The look of the image is sharp and feels amazing. The build is tanky. No regrets.

[T4.3] Last week I received this lens along with brand new Panasonic GH5. Buying my first Micro Four Thirds Camera and finding the right lenses for it was a challenge as I do not live in the US and I wasn't sure how wide this lens would be once paired with the Panasonic GH5. I mainly film wildlife and landscapes and for me this is the best lens I have bought for Landscapes and Nature videos. The lens is built solidly and the glass is sharp and clear. I paired this lens up with the Hoya Variable ND filter on the weekend and when to shoot with this lens in the snow and I was seriously impressed how versatile it was. It doesn't claim to be weather sealed but is well built and sealed. At T2.2, this shallow depth of field creates stunning images. There also no distortion and image quality is impeccable. If you can only buy one lens then make sure that it is this one.

[Multi-Coating] I got this to play with more than anything work or hobby related. I like the build quality for the price, and the image quality is better than expected. I am more of a hobbyist, I enjoy the character of this lens. The manual focus and iris are smooth and easy to dial in. Would suggest a pinch cap over the stock metal cap.

[Full Frame] I recently purchased the IRIX 45mm, 150mm, and this 15mm the color from all the lenses seem to match very well. This lens has very little distortion for being such a wide lens.
