The 8.5L, coyote iM2075 Storm Case from Pelican is made from injection-molded, HPX high-performance resin to be tough, lightweight, and resistant to impacts. Airtight and watertight, it has a permanently attached Vortex valve that automatically keeps the air pressure regulated without letting in water. Press & Pull latches open with the push of a button, yet remain securely closed under impact or stress. The case has unbreakable molded-in hasps that accept user-supplied, standard-sized padlocks. Hinges with integrated feet hold fast under pressure and create a flat surface for upright stability. Comfortably carry the case using the double-layered, soft-grip, solid-core handle.

Q: 1. are the locks currently TSA friendly?

A: The locks are not TSA friendly. However, there are 2 holes for locks in the lid. If you need to lock it, put your own TSA locks on there and leave the built in locks unlocked.

Q: 2. Does anyone know how deep the base of the case is and the how thick is the egg crate cover is in inches?. The stats say 8.4 inches total. Would like a break down. Want to put a NIKON D610 with battery drive into the case horizontally (tripod socket parallel to the floor of the case). Thanks.

A: It is best to have at least 2 inches of foam between the interior wall and the camera for better protection.

Q: 4. How come is the price of IM3200-00000(without Foarm) too expense than IM3200-00001(with Foam)?

A: Likely, this is to keep prices as competitive as possible. You can always purchase the case with foam included and remove it from the case as well.

Q: 5. The description calls for "a solid foam bottom". Does this mean a single solid piece of foam or is it three (3) pieces of solid foam as shown in the picture? I would like to order the case but want to make sure it is the (3) solid pieces on the bottom. Please confirm.

[Latch] I use this product to carry my backup camera and three more lenses on longer trips and expeditions. The foam is extremely easy to remove and my equipment fits perfectly. There is a surprising amount of room inside as I fit one camera (lens attached) and three extra lenses. The case itself has a very good design and the latches are brilliant because they wont open under any circumstance other than you opening them. It has also proven to be very durable; however, I don't think I'm going to test it out in the heavy rain. 5

[Latch] Typical high quality Pelican product. Latches are much easier to use than on my other Pelican case. Watch the sizing since the padded dividers take up a fair bit of the internal room. Each side of the case looses about 1/2 due to the thickness of the padding. Perfect fit for a Nikon D800 and 28-300 for kayaking. 5

[Latch] First impression, this is a high quality product, but everybody probably knows that. I really like the way the hinges open on the side, control and opening at the same time. I will say that the hinges with the push button mechanism work really well. I do wish that there was only one lock hole opening in the front above the handle instead of having two on both sides requires either the use of 2 locks, or that awkward look of having only one lock. I would have preferred having a choice of the type of foam for the inside. The pick'n'pluck was not too difficult to cut, but I can see where other reviews have stated that over time, wear and tear will take a toll. 5

[3.985 lb] I put a Nikon d610 with Grip, with a 85mm 1.8 and it so well protected. Fits snug and nothing will penetrate this case. Air tight. I use it to put in a carry on and it fits nice. 5

[Universal] I have my Apollo Twin and its ac adapter, a 20 ft mic cable, thunderbolt cable, and an akg c214 microphone all fully enclosed in protective foam cushion. If I pluck away more foam pieces I can fit a whole lot more stuff. Great purchase!!!! 5
