Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this lens come with a lens hood?

A: No it does not.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with Sony PXW-FS7 M2?

A: I've bough the PL mount, so my gear is not compatible with a SONY mount. Otherwise you have to choose a SONY mount or use another XEEN mount and use a converter. The point, don't forget that the XEEN lens is a full frame ( 24/36mm) lens.

Q: 3. Can this lens be used with full frame cameras? Or is it super 35 only?

A: The Tokina 25-75mm T2.9 Cinema Zoom Lens (EF Mount) is designed for sensors in the Size range of Super35. It would not be compatible with full frame sensors.

Q: 4. Will this Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Sony E Mount work with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5?

A: No, the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5k came with either a Micro Four Thirds mount or an EF mount (there were 2 versions). Depending on which mount you have, you would either need an EF mount version: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/769362-REG/Rokinon_85M_C_85mm_f_1_4_Aspherical_Lens.html or a Micro Four Thirds mount version: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1018527-REG/rokinon_85m_mft_85mm_f_1_4_as_if.html

Q: 5. Where is this lens manufactured??

A: This was made in China.

Q: 6. will this work on a Pentax mesuper body?

A: Yes, the manual focus Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Pentax K, B&H # RO8514P, would be compatible for use on the Pentax K-mount used on the Pentax ME Super 35mm film camera.

Q: 7. How much does this lens weigh?

A: 4.4lbs/2kg

Q: 8. Anybody using this for astrophotography?

A: While this lens can certainly pull in plenty of light due to its large aperture, a wide angle lens would be more ideal for astrophotography, such as the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens For Nikon with AE Chip, B&H # RO1428NC. https://bhpho.to/3iuSlWY

Q: 9. How much does it weigh?

A: According to Tokino, the the lens is expected to way under 2kg (7/19/21). Tokino will be publishing this information in the near future.

Q: 10. does this lens have a serial number and warranty?

A: Yes, the Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Nikon F with AE Chip have serial numbers, and come with a Limited 1-Year Warranty.

[T2.9] image rendered so great. with Bmcc6k full frame camera has a bit vignette, but if scale up the clip like 1.1x in davinci resolve can get rid of vignette.and I can live with that. With sigma MC-21 adapter is enoght tight to not worry abot it.

[T22] After reading the review in NewsShooter I thought I'd give these a go. They are my first anamorphic lenses (usually so expensive).

Even though I'm using this on my URSA Mini (super 35) with PL mount, the image captured is lovely - probably the sweet spot of the lens. It's full of character, but not too much. Sharp enough, but not clinical. The mechanics feel good and smooth build quality is solid.

They are quite a nice wide anamorphic 1.8x squeeze. For some recordings of the landscape in our valley, I wanted to capture a full panoramic. So recording to the full sensor (16:9) and then de-squeezing without cropping I ended up with a 3.3:1 panoramic. Obviously I won't be delivering a commercial project in that aspect ratio, but for my home recordings it's lovely to see such a vista captured in one shot.

I can highly recommend.

[1x 1/4"-20] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money

[16] This lens is fantastic. Great clarity, good bokeh, all around beautiful. I have never used auto focus, so the manual focus on this lens is great. It's got a smooth focus pull, great for racking. It's perfect for video, also works great for portraits and headshots. The only downside to this awesome lens is it's 3 foot minimum focus length... No ECU's with this guy. It more than makes up for it with all its other attributes- I don't go to a shoot without this lens. The results are stellar, whether its a tight framed closeup or a rich wide shot. It delivers amazing quality paired with my Canon 6D.

[1.8x] I've already used this lens on three different projects and it is genuinely incredible how much character and filmic quality it adds to footage. I use this lens with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k and the combination of size and focal length make it an ideal No. 1 lens for narrative and music video work. I can fly it on the DJI RS2 easily. I also have the Vazen 40mm, which is another incredible lens, but in terms of ease of use, the 28mm tops it - thanks mostly to its reduced size and increased depth of field. It makes it much more ideal for fast moving shots where it's important to still keep most of the frame in focus. The flares on this lens are absolutely gorgeous as well. The only minor gripe is that the aperture ring does feel like it moves a bit too easily. I haven't had any problems with it slipping so far, but that's the only thing I've really noticed. Otherwise, WOW!

[T2.9] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.
