Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the image circle size?

A: The image circle of the lens is big enough to cover the FULL sensor of Micro Four Thirds cameras and the full sensor HEIGHT of S35 cameras.

Q: 2. Is this lens weather-sealed?

A: It does not come with weather sealing.

Q: 3. Will I see vignetting on the c70 if I shoot in XF-AVC 4K DCI? I know this is wider than UHD and I presume it will vignette given this is only MFT coverage. I'm particularly interested with the 28mm lens.

A: No, the Vazen 40mm and 28mm 1.8x Anamorphic Lens' image circle covers the C70s sensor.

Q: 4. Can this lens in either mount version be mounted on a Sony A7S III?

A: We’re afraid not. They do not make an E-Mount version of this lens.

Q: 5. Does this work with GH5?

A: Yes, this will work with a GH5.

Q: 6. Do it work with Panasonic g95

A: Yes.

Q: 7. In the GH5 what focal length do I input for IBIS?

A: You can experiment between 21mm to 24mm as that is the range for spherical comparison to see what results are best.

Q: 8. Would this work on c300 mark iii

A: At this time there are no RF to EF lens adapters that would allow the Vazen 40mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (RF Mount) lens to mount to a C300 camera model.

Q: 9. Will this work on the canon r5/r6?

A: Yes, the Vazen 40mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (RF Mount) is compatible with the Canon R5 and R6.

Q: 10. Are there filter threads on this lens? If so, what size?

A: No, The Vazen 40mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens for Micro Four Thirds Cameras does not have filter threads. With this lens you would need to use a 95mm clamp on Matte box or adapter. Example 95mm Matte Box idea https://bhpho.to/3MTy91g

[1.8x] This lens looks great, has interesting flares and has character up the wazoo. I love the distortion of this lens. It may be my PL mount, but the lens is a bit too soft at the moment at distances past 10 meters, and I'll have it checked out soon at a rental house with focus charts. Besides that, so amazing!

[T22] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money

[82 mm] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[1x 1/4"-20] Great results. Necessary post finishing. Unbeatable price.

[T2.9] I bought a set of Viltrox anamorphic lenses, which are amazing, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for my FX6/Ronin 4D. These Blazar lenses are a lot of fun. I only have the 65 so far, which I find wide enough for most situations without having the issues in the corners that the 45 had. Waiting to try out their new ones, I just need something slightly wider and another slightly tighter. Waiting to hear what they say about the new additions.

[T2.9] I am not really able to compare it to the others in the set yet… but it’s a safe bet this is the weakest of the 4 or 3if FF only. Partially just from to the focal length not conveying the look as strong as the wider lenses but also it really works best stopped down a tad…as it’s rather soft wide open. However I am def still very impressed by the overall quality and quality of these… they don’t feel cheap just small … shockingly small. The 100mm in PL is smaller than my RF 50mm f1.2! Impressed by this but it comes at the cost of some obvious chromatic aberrations… still for the money this is great and 1.5x may seem to enough squeeze the bokeh and flares look very anamorphic to my eyes shockingly so.
If you order just one maybe the 45mm 65mm or if your on smaller than 17mm high S35 sensors… get the 35mm . This lens great but don’t make it your only option.

[T2.9] Excellent value! Just make sure to buy a 82mm close-up vivitar lens set as well as it will make this lens a lot more useful and also mitigate some of its weaker points. Weight is great as well. Overall this is a very good mix of Anamorphic bliss for full frame sensors and image quality especially when you want flares a little more controlled. I'm using it with the Red V-Raptor VV.

[16] After reading the review in NewsShooter I thought I'd give these a go. They are my first anamorphic lenses (usually so expensive).

Even though I'm using this on my URSA Mini (super 35) with PL mount, the image captured is lovely - probably the sweet spot of the lens. It's full of character, but not too much. Sharp enough, but not clinical. The mechanics feel good and smooth build quality is solid.

They are quite a nice wide anamorphic 1.8x squeeze. For some recordings of the landscape in our valley, I wanted to capture a full panoramic. So recording to the full sensor (16:9) and then de-squeezing without cropping I ended up with a 3.3:1 panoramic. Obviously I won't be delivering a commercial project in that aspect ratio, but for my home recordings it's lovely to see such a vista captured in one shot.

I can highly recommend.

[T2.9] image rendered so great. with Bmcc6k full frame camera has a bit vignette, but if scale up the clip like 1.1x in davinci resolve can get rid of vignette.and I can live with that. With sigma MC-21 adapter is enoght tight to not worry abot it.
