Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the lens work with a blackmagic cinema pocket 6K, is it any crop factor? I’m not sure about that mount from canon I usually get EF and those work great ..

A: The Blackmagic 6K uses the EF mount. The RF mount is canons new mount for mirrorless camera and can not be be adapted onto an EF mount because of the flange distances.

Q: 2. Will this work on an A9 or will it vignette?

A: It's made for APS-C, so it will likely vignette.

Q: 3. How is the chromatic aberration at f.95? usually these third party wide aperture lens have a lot of CA wide open...

A: When using the Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 35mm f/0.95 Mark II Lens for Canon EF-M , the "chromatic aberration" even wide open at .95 is not an issue.

Q: 4. Is is rangefinder coupled?

A: Yes. The lens offers coupling and its manual focus design permits working with subjects as close range.

Q: 5. What is the T-stop value of this F/0.95 lens?

A: F stops only. T stops not specified.

Q: 6. Does this lens transmit EXIF data to the camera?

A: Yes, this lens transfers EXIF data to the camera.

Q: 7. Will this lens work on a Hasselblad X2D?

A: The Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 35mm f/0.95 Mark II Lens (FUJIFILM X, Black) is not compatible with the Hasselblad X2D 100C Medium Format Mirrorless Camera and there are no lens adapters for mounting a Fujifilm X lens to a Hasselblad X camera body.

Q: 8. Does the Lens mount on the Z6 with the mount Nikon provided? I hope not.

A: This lens is a Z mount and will attach directly to the Z6 without an adapter.

Q: 9. Has anyone found an authorized repair service in NYC for this lens?

A: We would suggest contacting NYC's three best camera repair company's to see what they have to say.Photo-Tech, The Camera Doctor and Nippon Photoclinic and Metro Camera Repair.

Q: 10. Does the lens exhibit any form of hot spot when taking infrared photos? If so at what apertures does the lens exhibit the hot spot? Thank you

A: I just got this lens, so havent tested it much. However, on my IR-converted XT-2 I found the following. Set on Astia color film simulation, I didnt see a noticeable hot spot from 0.95 to f4. Beyond that, I found an increasingly noticeable hot spot. Set on Acros R (equivalent to B&W film with a red filter) I didnt see a noticeable hot spot at any aperture, though diffraction at f16 was evident. I hope this helps!

[T1] Freaking love this lens. Sharp, fast, metal, zero complaints at all.

[T1] This is one of the best cine lenses that I've used. It is soft wide open but gives you a good halation effect when shooting indoors especially when you're using practical lights like lamps fairies small accent LEDs. For the price it offers quite a bit of amazing features one of them is zero breathing. I am waiting for a wide angle version of this lens may be a 25 mm or 24 mm to add to my collection. The build quality is on par with that of the Zeiss. It is quite heavy but I do like the heft it keeps my camera stable. Right now I use it on my red dragon as well as my black magic pocket cinema camera. This is a great investment.

[T1] I bought this lens for my Blackmagic 4K, and I love the quality footage it produces. You can't beat the price for such a fast cine lens! It's well-built, too.

[9] Just have to say this is an incredible lens. First one I received did not have the proper line on it, second one was absolutely perfect and the focus distance markings were exact. Years ago it would have been impossible to buy a lens like this for less than 30k, or 10k. Look up some videos on it to confirm how incredible it is. Large format look on an S35 sensor. Great feeling quality. I have used 50k Cooke lenses, this is a great quality lens from Mitakon.

[T1] Lens build is solid and works well. Some focus breathing, but everything else is rad

[Super35/APS-C] Between the color, bokeh, and sharpness of this lens... WOW. When using it on my Fuji xPro2, the images are almost indistinguishable from those I get using my Leica m240 and 50mm f1.4 Summilux. Obviously, not as good at a micro-level. But it really, really, surprised me just how similar the images looked (FYI, I primarily shoot street and travel photography).
I don't know if every lens (this model) is as good or well made as the one I got, but mine is fantastic!
If I could change anything, it would be for click-stops on the aperture ring. As I tend to shoot this lens wide open, it's disappointing to see—after I've taken the shot—that the aperture ring moved accidentally while I focused. No biggie. But that would be the one thing I'm unhappy about.
And again, as I like to shoot wide-open, I also bought the B+W Variable ND filter. Highly recommended.
My final words... Get this lens!

[Super35/APS-C] I read a lot of bad reviews. My experience is that this lens is great!! Yes, the T.1 is soft, but I always use a Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1 Filter for my films. So, to me, I enjoy that characteristic of a softer look at T.1. I have also seen reviews saying that chromatic aberration is too much. To me, people in post-production that I work with, spend tons of money on plugins to emulate that characteristic alone. So, to have it in lens already is pretty dope. ALso, this lens comes with a awesome hard case!

The manual focus is no problem for me personally. I have honestly never truly used autofocus much at all in my career. The lens is on the heavier side. Personally, I am very active (I work out, play basketball, and golf) so holding this 4Ib lens vs a 2.5Ib lens from Sigma is virtually the same for me.

The focus without a focus puller is very smooth. If you use manual focus already and don't use / own a focus puller, then you won't need one with this lens in my opinion. My hands are small, and I can still focus relatively easily with my hands alone. Now, I did buy this lens new and not used. So that may be why there are bad reviews regarding the focus.

Overall to have a T.1 is unbeatable to me. Yes, the image is softer but that's why we have post-production (color grading in Davinci). This lens has a character that is hard to reproduce in post-production. I look at the cons as a win as a creator!
