The Tiffen 6.6x6.6 Pro-Mist 1/2 Filterhelps to reduce the value of the highlights while noticeably lowering the overall contrast. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 1/2 density provides more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, while also allowing for a soft, pastel-like quality of light.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm.

[0.9 lb] I was caught between Moment and Tiffen, but I ultimately opted for this one after extensive reviews on YouTube.This is an excellent product that takes videos and photos to another level. 1/8 is perfect for most shoots as its intensity is low. [0.9 lb] Im a big shooter of night time and neon lights. I always wanted to make my light have a glow while maintaining contrast in the shadows. This is the filter for you if you have ever wanted the same thing! And for the price it’s an easy pick up! I don’t even take it off. Ever. [0.9 lb] I bought the 1/4 and 1/8 Black-Pro-Mist filters for myself recently but I have been using them for years on a number of productions and they always help in achieving the 'look' that so many modern filmmakers desire. There's a reason why their diffusion filter is so trusted and praised even years after the competition has had time to catch up. You get so much value for your money and you can honestly never go wrong with using either of these filters. 5

[0.9 lb] I use this softening filter in certain landscape situations, not necessarily for portraiture. And guess what, that can be lots of fun! I use it with my 105 Nikor micro lens occasionally and can get the most dreamy look, just gorgeous. No kidding. I also have the 77mm size, pro mist 3 for the 70-200 zoom. Really can't tell much difference between the #2 and #3 strength. Get the black version if you don't want some halos around the highlights. I like the halos personally.
