This SLIK Master Classic Tripod with 2-Way Pan-Tilt Headsupports up to 13.2 lb, measures 25.6" when folded and includes a Slik Master Classic 2-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head. Together, the tripod and head can be positioned for a minimum height of 24.8" to a maximum height of 52.4", or 64.0" with the tripod's column fully raised. The column utilizes a geared movement for precise height adjustments, and each of the tripod's 3-section legs feature twist locks for rapid deployment as well as a rubber foot to help further enhance stability on a wide variety of surfaces.

Cameras, lenses, or sport optics that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the pan-and-tilt head. The head can be rotated 360°, and tilted 90° backwards or forwards. These two movements function simultaneously, and both the rotation and tilt can be set in place using the pan bar's integrated twist lock.

A friction lock for the mount allows the mount and the head to rotate 360° independently of each other. To change from a landscape to portrait orientation, the mount's friction lock can be loosened while the attached camera, lens, or sport optic is physically held in place so that it continues to face the subject. The head itself can then be rotated 90° toward the left, and tilted 90° forward before closing the mount's friction lock as well as the pan bar's twist lock.

[6.6 lb] I have the old version of this tripod, but it's still essentially the same. For the other reviewer saying that the handle gets in the way.. turn the head around so it points foward. It's much easier to pan and follow faster moving objects that way. Just loosen the handle and aim it. I have used this tripod to support a fairly heavy thing I built to take pictures of stars and it supported it easily, and that was with a 15 lb weight hooked to the bottom. It didn't budge one bit. I've used this with my 5 lb camera lens that has is a 500mm and it works great. I would not hesitate to buy this again. it is a rock solid tripod. 5

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I purchased this after buying some garbage tripod made by pro master at my local camera store. The price point was excellent, and I liked the metal construction. Some pieces don’t feel as sturdy, like the crank handle and other adjusting components, so just plan on going gentle on them if you want them to last. Overall it’s quick to set up. I am using it mostly for outdoor night shots and it’s been pretty easy to quickly get out of the car, drop the legs, and mount the camera. 5

[29 x 7.6 x 5.4"] This is a finely built, robust head. Placed on my Silk Pro 700 DX tripod it makes a solid base for my Nikon D780 camera and Sigma 150 - 600 mm lens. I'm satisfied. 5

[Yes] This is a very nice, stable rig for my Fuji Finepix S-1; it is replacing an older model Slik I've had for a number of years now (U6600) since I wanted something a little taller and stronger-built yet not massive. I'm learning the ins and outs of HDR and Time-lapse, both of which activities mandate using a tripod. I should add (for the sake of the purists shaking their heads at this point) that I'm not a pro; strictly amateur, trying to learn something while having a bit of fun at the same time with somewhat limited means. [3] This head was purchased specifically for use on an older tripod to mount my older model Orion ST 80 refractor. The single handle tension works well and allows just the required amount of tension when using this scope for low power sky sweeping. It is very smooth in both axis. At higher magnifications, it does slip a bit but is much better than the head it replaced. 5

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I bought this back when I had a small SLR and have since upgraded to a full field Canon SLR and I Series lenses and this unit is still rock solid. I also love the one control to move the camera and the extended arm allows for very fine adjustments. Also great with my movie camera for all the same reasons. Yes, you must use the lens support and not the camera with heavy loads. I also like firmly, supporting the camera to the mount vs using the quick disconnects. May seem old fashioned but REALLY strong and nothing to slip! 5

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Well built tripod. It's cast iron or steel in places where it matters and thick aluminium elsewhere. This makes it very sturdy, reliable and rugged. I've compared it to some other tripods in it's price range and found that it's able to eat a bit more of those pesky microvibrations you come across when using tele or macro. Also you can pretty much throw this thing around without being too worried about it breaking.It's not a brilliant tripod for all macro work though, as the minimum height is quite high. You can actually reverse the center pole, but the mechanism makes it tricky. Would be better to attach a ball head on the other end of the center pole but i haven't tried it yet.All in all a great tripod for most uses and one that can last from father to son. 5
