Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can it use 4mm thick filter?

A: Definitely no, as the slot itself is just a tad wider then 2mm, so a 2mm filter works perfectly and a 2mm filter with the rubber foam seal around the edges fits very snug.

Q: 2. Does LEE have an adaptor that will connect this filter holder to a camera lens with a 72 mm thread size?I only see the 105 mm thread size on the BH Photo website.

A: Yes they do. http://bhpho.to/1eKK0Hz and http://bhpho.to/1icOaNQ

Q: 3. tandem?

A: You can use up to 3 stacked filters with the parts that come with the kit.

Q: 4. Is it possible to adapt or configure to hold smaller width filters such as the Cokin 84mm wide p filters? If so, how?

A: Unfortunately, we will only have adapters that allow for using a larger 4x4/4x6 filter with a Cokin P holder, and not the only way around. To do so, would cause a major vignette , especially with wider angle lenses.

Q: 5. Will this work with sigma 18 35

A: Yes. Just make sure you get correct filter adapter. I use the 4x6 filters on mine.

Q: 6. Can the filter holder support lenses with diameter 52mm as well as 105mm. Is there a adapter ring available for 105mm?

A: Both the LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 52mm, B&H # LEAR52, and the LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 105mm - for Long Lenses, B&H # LEAR105, may be used with the LEE Filters Foundation Kit (Standard 4x4 , 4x6 Filter Holder) (Requires Adapter Ring).

Q: 7. Will this filter holder work with my Nikon 14-24mm lens with no cut-off? Thanks.

A: Youll need the Lee SW150 holder for your 14-24 mm lens. Many have opted for the 16-35 mm lens because the Lee 100 holder works fine with it.

Q: 8. Will this filter holder attach to my canon 24-105mm f4 lens? My lens takes 77mm filter threads. Or do I need to buy an adapter with it?

A: Yes you will need the 77mm adaptor. You will need an adaptor sized to each different lens size in your bag. Watch out for the wide angle vs standard as well. Wide angle adaptors allow the filter to sit closer to the camera to avoid blocking view.

Q: 9. Has the basic filter holder been redesigned recently? I have an old version that is all plastic with threaded inserts for the screws. I recently saw a Lee lens hood that had a center ring that was metal that was fused to the plastic. Is the current 2014 holder plastic -metal hybrid or all plastic?

A: This filter holder is made of a heavy duty, high impact plastic with metal screw threads built in.

Q: 10. I have 95mm lens thread. Does the foundation kit works fine?

A: Yes. As mentionned below you need the 95mm adapter ring: LEE Filters 95mm Adapter Ring for Foundation Kit.

[0.12 lb] I upgraded from the Cokin P series/85 mm Lee Filters, to the Lee Foundation kit. These adapter rings are sturdy. The wide angle one is recessed so the filter is close to the lens.

[55 mm] I use the Lee filter system and have one of these adapters for every lens filter diameter. I keep them in a multi-pouch holder that is sold to hold round filters. The adapter rings are robust, screw in and out easily, and hold the Lee filter system securely.

[0.12 lb] Definitely better than building multiple stepping rings onto your lens. I use this for my wide Canon lenses. I love the superb build quality of the Lee products. The always are better than the off brands.

[0.12 lb] I'm a beginner and it took me quite some time to bite the bullet and purchase a Lee filter system. I've had it a month now and I'm upset that it took me so long to make the jump! I absolutely love it! Worth every penny! Can't wait to pick up a few more rings for my other lenses!

[Aluminum] Allows me to use my suite of 100mm Lee and Singh-Ray filters on my Q2 for lighter-weight carry than my D850. No vignetting when using stacked filters and polarizer attached to front of Lee filter holder.
