Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this adapter work for Minolta MC or SR mount also?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 2. Can the corrective glass element be easily removed for macro photography (and later replaced)?

A: The Vello Minolta MD Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera Lens Adapter is not designed to allow removing the glass optic.

Q: 3. Is this adapter has aperture control dial in order to use it with auto focus Minolta lenses?

A: This adapter does not control the lens in any way. Aperture would be controlled on the lens. Minolta MD lenses were not Auto Focus lenses.

Q: 4. will this work on a nikon d5100 please?

A: It works on my Nikon D300 which should be the same mount on your camera. However you will have to focus manually and adjust aperture on your lens as this this adapter does not have any electrical contacts to operate the lens. You also will not get all the exposure metadata you would get with an electronically connected lens.

Q: 5. will this work on a d3500 camera?

A: Yes it will on manual focus and shutter speed and aperture

Q: 6. Will a Minolta X370 lens work with a Nikon F2 when using this adapter? Thanks.

A: Yes. The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Minolta MD Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera will allow you to use MD mount lenses from the X370 on a Nikon F2. There is a 1.4x teleconverter in the adapter in order to maintain infinity focus so your lenses will appear magnified.

Q: 7. Can i use this adapter to connect my collection of MD Rokkor lenses to my Nikon F?

A: Yes

Q: 8. Does this adapter incur a 1.4 crop factor like some others? I do realize that some light is lost. Thinking of using it on a Viltrox EF to EF-M focal reducer?

A: The crop factor would be camera-dependent. In the case of a Canon DSLR with an APS-C sensor, the crop factor would be 1.6X.

Q: 9. I understand about the altered focal length, but what is the quality of the image: sharpness, contrast, etc.?

A: Image quality is fair, remember there is a glass element in the adapter to allow for infinity focus.

Q: 10. Will this adaptor work for both Nikon D200 as well as D780?

A: Yes, it is compatible with both cameras.

[0.05 lb] This adapter is well made and fits perfectly without being excessively tight or loose. Used it with 58mm f/1.2 MC and 50mm f/1.2 MD lens on a Sony A7Rii. It worked great and I was able to nail focus wide open more consistently than with my old Minolta bodies.

[0.05 lb] I use this product to test The quality of old Minolta lenses. It mounts and dismounts easilywith no play. Makes it easy to adapt these lenses to my micro 4/3 Olympus camera. Good service as usual from B&H!

[0.05 lb] I have been using a Panasonic Camera the FZ-80 and pretty pleased with the results. However, I wanted to move up to a full-frame digital camera. The Sony A7 ii is just above $1,000 and Consumer Reports gave it a great rating. Didn't want to deal with the cost of buying a bunch of new lenses though. So I remembered that I had a ton of lenses that worked on my old reliable Minolta X-700 film camera. With the help of the B&H representative, I ordered this adapter and it snapped right onto my Minolta lenses tightly. Then went to a local camera shop and they let me connect it to a working Sony A7 ii body. They showed me how to use the Sony focus peaking feature with the lens. Yes, it works, yes! Got old Minolta lenses of value? Then get this adapter! With the Sony A7 iii coming out, I will buy the Sony A7 ii, when the price drops soon.

[0.05 lb] Install my old Minolta MD lenses, from an X500, on a Nikon D5100 DSLR. Marabillous the operation. They adapt perfectly and the photos you take are a pleasure.

[0.05 lb] I've had one of these adapter for a few years now purchased not long after buying my A6000. I have a collection of Minolta Rokkor MC & MD lenses that I wanted to use along with an original Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f3.5 macro zoom & a 400mm f6.3 Soligor Tele-photo both Minolta MC/MD mount. The lens with the poorest image quality is the Soligor so I want to include an image taken with this lens & the Vello adapter today November 16, 2021
The image is un-cropped but it has been resized from 6000x4000 to 2700x2160 & saved at 150dpi.
The flowers were about 15 metres away (about 49 feet) and due to the aps crop factor the full frame equiv would be 600mm. There is an ant on one of the flowers & it's quite recognisable.
Image details: Manual focus - 1/250 sec at f8.0 ISO-200 all manual settings & I used a monopod to help with camera shake as no in body stabilisation in my A6000
I am now thinking of buying another of these Vello adapters along with the version that has Macro capabilities.
Highly Recommended - I bought & paid for this adapter with my own money & this review is not sponsored by any company or person

[0.05 lb] It's like a natural extension of my XT3. My Minolta lenses twist in and fit like a glove. Very tight and sturdy. The metal construction feels solid and professional.

[0.05 lb] I had been gifted a few old Minolta lenses by my father in law and we both thought they would work with my Nikon FG but low and behold they did not. Luckily I found this adapter and everything works perfectly! I cannot wait to get my film developed and I couldn’t be happier with this adapter!

[0.05 lb] This adapter mount is a great idea. I can now use my older Minolta MD lenses with my Nikon camera. Even better than a great idea is the fact the it works! While it is a manual exposure and focus, I can tell just by looking at the digital screen if I need more exposure or less. I like landscape photography, so I am not in a hurry.   This is definitely worth the price for me.
