The Heliopan Bay 60 Close-Up +3 Lens for Enhanced Photographyis a convex diopter designed to decrease the minimum focus distance of any lens in order to produce a shorter working distance for close-up photography. Available in varying strengths, close-up lenses also feature Bay 60 front filter threads for combining two or more filters to fine-tune results.

The front and rear surfaces of the filter both feature a single anti-reflection coating. Each coating helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, they offer protection to the filter substrate while helping to keep the glass clean for longer than uncoated glass.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In 82mm, how thick are the metal rings please? Thanks.

A: The rings are approximately 4mm thick.

Q: 2. I have a Fuji XE2 with the 18-55 kit lens. Is it compatible?

A: Yes. This will work with any X-mount Fujifilm camera. Keep in mind that this is a manual-focus only extension tube with no electrical contacts. You will need to enable "lensless shooting" in the menu of your XE2.

Q: 3. Are they stackable ie. threaded on both sides?

A: Yes, the Vivitar Close Up Macro Kit features both front and rear 58mm threads.

Q: 4. Would this work on Sigma EX Would this work with Sigma Macro 180mm F/3.5 APO HSM IF Lens For Canon that takes 72mm filters?

A: The Sigma AML72-01 Close-Up Lens can be used on the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 EX DG APO Macro IF HSM Autofocus Lens.

Q: 5. Will this work with the Sony a7III?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Macro Extension Tube Set for Sony Alpha E-Mount Cameras: for Extreme Close-Up Photography, B&H # FOMACROTUBSN, would be compatible for use on the E-mount used on the Sony Alpha a7 III Mirrorless Digital Camera. Do note that the above are fully manual extension tubes, as there are no electronic contacts on the lens to transmit electronic information from the lens to the camera. As such, you will have to focus manually, as well as set your exposure manually. You also would not be able to control the aperture of the lens, so you will have to use the camera in either A (Aperture Priority) or M (Manual) mode.

Q: 6. Does these fit 18-135 and 70-300 canon lenses?

A: Yes look at around the inside of the front of the lens it should show the diameter of the thread, if it says 77mm then yes. If not just choose whichever one fits!

Q: 7. Does the vitar kit have threads on the outside of it? Would I be able to put a macro focus on then thread the fisheye?

A: The Vivitar 62mm Close Up Macro Lens Kit has 62mm inside threads to allow stacking of the filters for various macro focusing options. Because the 10x filter is slightly convex, it can only be placed on the front of the stack.

Q: 8. does this work with a 75 mm sirui mft lens?

A: If you are referring to Sirui 75mm f/1.8 1.33x Anamorphic Lens (Micro Four Thirds) it wouldn't work as that lens accepts 67mm filters. You would need this one Vivitar 67mm Close Up Macro Lens Kit. https://bhpho.to/3GyFxwt

Q: 9. Can these lens work with the Canon 28 mm macro lens?

A: Yes they will fit the Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM Lens.

Q: 10. Will this connect to an FTZ adapter? Even if there is no electrical connections.

A: Yes it will , with no electronic connection it means you would have to do everything manually (focus and aperture control ) assuming your lenses are D line ore manual F mount not G type

[Glass] Like all Heliopan, this filter is super high quality German design and make.
Magnification allows me to shoot flowers in macro, while beautifully distorting everything around.

[Brass] I use this with my Polaroid 180, using a finder from the close up set made for the Polaroid 250 (much cheaper than the set made for the 180). I use a 45-46mm filter adapter in order to mount this to the lens. This should also work for the Polaroid 190, 195. In the case of my 180, the the addition of the adapter ring means that this lens is not at the same distance as what the RF finder was calibrated for. I found that with the camera RF set at the 8 feet mark, the focus in the RF is correct with the image focus. That makes it very simple to make closeups. It has the usual high quality of construction from Heliopan. The brass ring means that it can be removed easily from my aluminum filter ring adapter without binding. It's a great item for taking pictures of flowers in the garden.

[Close-Up] I do some charity work for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep foundation. This requires some very close work of babies' hands and feet. Buying a dedicated macro lens was one option, but this fills the bill much better. I use it on a Nikkor 17-55 or 24-70. Saves changing lenses during a session and is plenty sharp considering the use for which it is intended. For this work it is a true bargain.

[Brass] I use this on Nikon's f 2 135mm lens for close up food photography. It maintains edge to edge sharpenss and since is is completely coated color is good too. The treads were a bit tight the first few times I used it.

[Bay 60] I purchased this filter with the +2 lens. Both have excellent optical quality and can be used in conjunction to get a +5 result. Light to carry, a bit slower to install than a macro lens but with all the benefits and none of the drawbacks ie, higher cost, bulk and weight. Embarrassingly, when I first attached them I could not get things to focus as I was keeping the distance required by my macro setting. But as soon as I closed in, Voila, it is like photographing through a microscope. Bug pictures here I come.
