This Westcott Background Support System consists of two stands, a collapsible crossbar that extends to 10.5', and a carrying case. The system supports both the 10 x 12' and 10 x 24' sheet backgrounds.

Optional Background Clips (9017) and crossbar will allow you to add an additional sheet background from the same set of stands.

A: By using two of these supports, you would get a little over 20 ft of width, however we cannot recommend for safety reasons. Generally, the right type of support is based on the type of background material you need to hold.

Q: 3. What is the Maximum Height for the light stands included?

A: The Light stands are 10'3 when set with the maximum footprint and can be raised to 10'6 with a slight reduction of the footprint. For the most stable setup, the maximum footprint is suggested.

A: The footprint diameter would be 37 inches as per Westcott.

Q: 5. Will this system support the Manfrotto 044 Background Holder Hooks and Super Clamps for 3 Backgrounds. I ask because I'm working on a budget and I have a rented artist space where having a ceiling is out of reach even for the extension system of the Manfrotto Auto Poles.

A: No it is not designed to hold that much weight.

Q: 6. I just received this product and it does not match the photographs. Specifically, the nut that screws onto the top of the stand to hold the rod in is not the the one shown with the black plastic handle, but rather a cheap small little wing nut with no washer. Did I receive the wrong product? Also, the holes in the pole at either end won't fit over the top of the stand as in the picture. Why not?

A: This system can be extended to 10'. That is the max. It a sturdy system also.

A: Although Manfrotto does not publish a measure of the bag, it would be around 45".

A: Sorry, no it's not. The Westcott Background Support System #9014 crossbar is made up of 3 pieces of tubing which you can see at the fjwestcott dot com website.With all three pieces of the crossbar used the width is 10.5ft, but the width at the stand bases (tripods) is 12.5ft. So, it definitely won't fit in your room.With only two pieces of the crossbar used the width is reduced to 7ft. Total width at the stand bases would be 9ft. This would fit in your room. Keep in mind that you would be limited to 7 ft wide backdrops, which is ok if you use Canvas as there are many to choose from. But with Muslin & Fabric, and Seamless Paper backdrops there are few options in 7ft widths (at least based on my past limited research; but then again my studio area is large enough to accommodate the full 10.5ft/12.5ft width so there may be more options out there for 7ft backdrops now.
