Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I connect the 3.8mm to a Hollyland Lark Max, and the XLRs into an Ursa Mini Pro, will it split the left and right signals?

A: If the Hollyland Lark Max receiver is set to stereo mode, then the ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord will carry left and right signals on the first and second XLR outputs respectively. If it is set to mono mode, the same mixed signal will be carried on both XLR connectors.

Q: 2. Is the Rode SC4 compatible with iphone 5s?

A: Yes it is compatible.

Q: 3. Does this cable have any attenuation? Will it reduce a line level signal by 25db to mic level for the camera's input? thx

A: The Zoom SMC-1 Stereo Mini Cable for DSLR Cameras is not an attenuator cable.

Q: 4. What's the purpose of this adapter?

A: This adaptor will allow you to connect a microphone with a standard male 3.5mm TRS connector to a smartphone, with a 3.5mm TRRS connection.

Q: 5. Will it work with a USB hub that contains an HDMI port that I plan to use for a second computer monitor?

A: The EZQuest USB Type-C Female to USB Type-A Male Mini Adapter will work with any device with a USB port regardless if the device has an HDMI port or not.

Q: 6. I just purchased an SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor hoping to connect my Apogee Element 88 to my iPhone 11. My signal chain looks like this - MacBook Pro - Apogee 88 - TRS RCA Cable - SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor - to Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. The iPhone is not recognizing the mic. Is it possible to use SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor with and RCA cable line out?

A: Upon looking at the Element 88, we notice there are no RCA outputs on the unit. You may be referring to the 1/4'' outputs on the back of the unit. If this is correct, and the cabling is as you suggested with 1/4'' outputs from the ALT out, then technically signal should pass. You may need to look at your DAW outputs and ensure you are sending signal to the ALT outputs and not just the mains. An alternative to that many adapters would be this cable, used from the 1/4'' outputs, and connected right the the Apple lightning to headphone adapter BH #SEIPSUMTS3.

Q: 7. Will this work with my stereo clippy mics which end in a 3.5 male trs to be able to use the xlr inputs for my MixPre6?

A: The ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders is compatible with stereo microphones which use a 3.5mm TRS connector.

Q: 8. Would this work with the Rode VideoMic NTG TRRS output (allowing you to record the signal in addition to the safety track separately) with any mixer with XLR inputs?

A: The adapter has a female 3.5mm TRS connector, so to avoid the possibility of any issues with compatibility, it would be better to use a TRS cable instead of the TRRS cable since the auto-sensing feature may not work properly when connecting to an adapter rather than directly to a mic input. For a standard TRS cable, you could use the Rode SC2 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Coiled Patch Cable (B&H # ROSC2). As an easier solution, you can use a single Y-cable with 3.5mm TRS and left/right XLR connectors like the Kopul Y-Cable with 1/8" TRS Stereo Mini to 2 XLR Male Connectors - 3' (B&H # KOSMYCM2XM03) or Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 3' (B&H # HOHMX003Y) or Hosa Technology Stereo Mini-Phone (3.5mm) Male to 2 XLR Male Y-Cable - 6.6' (B&H # HOYCSMM2XM6). All of the Y-cables are available in longer lengths. The single Y-cable ensures a proper left/right split and helps to avoid introducing noise into the signal.

Q: 9. Can I connect a mixer's phone stereo out to the 3.5mm female and use XLR to TRS female adapter to convert headphones to mono?

A: Yes you can connect the headphone output of a mixer into the 1/8'' input on the Switchcraft AudioStix adapter.

Q: 10. Can I use this to connect to a MACBOOK PRO?

A: Yes this will allow you to connect any of the VideoMics with a standard 3.5mm TRS output directly into your MacBook Pro.

[Hosa] This was recommended by seller. For $ I took a chance that I might need it, and glad I did. It was required to hook up to my T.V. and with a pile of wire from years past I didn't have one so glad I bought it.

[Hosa] I have a new Samsung TV that, like most others now, doesn't have an out for RCA plugs. I needed to hook up cordless headphones with RCA cables. The TV has an mini plug out so the male to 2 RCA female was just the thing I heeded. I used that and an RCA spliter cable and was able to hook up 2 cordless headphones.

[Hosa] Works great. Use these to connect to my speakers at festivals directly to my laptop using the 1/8 connector without too many conversions. The only downside is a little heavy with the 2 cables connected, stressing the 1/8 connector. Advice is to get a M-F 1/8 extension cable.
