A: Hi Joe. Yes this will attach to a tripod. The version I purchased does not have a cold shoe attached there is only a screw. This screw then attaches to your camera and the tripod mount is then screwed into the bottom of that screw. The screw which moves attaches to, in my case, a motion/lightning sensor. Ken
