Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will both straps go over the right shoulder? I have a pacemaker on my left side and any straps over the left shoulder with chaff again the pacemaker.

A: This is a great vest and very adaptable---I just tried it on like this and because the shoulder straps adjust you can do it and feels fine. The waist strap you could also cinch up so the hips would take a little more weight. It could be that the pulled over strap would come up to high on the neck, so i would maybe sew up the strap against the regular fitting side just lower off the shoulder and more onto the chest. You could also try crossing the straps across the front instead on the back where they are designed to cross over----all in all, I think you make it work fine. Good luck.

Q: 2. Will you be stocking the Newswear Women's Foul Weather Waterproof Digital Chestvest anytime soon?

A: Yes, we will be selling the Newswear Women's Foul Weather Waterproof Digital Chestvest, see product code NEWFWDCVBLK.

Q: 3. Will it fit an Olympus E-M1X?

A: Yes. This should fit an Olympus E-M1X.

Q: 4. Will this short poncho work with nikkor 300mm 2.8 vr2 + tc1.7?

A: This short poncho will work with the 300mm f/2.8 VR II, however with the added length of the teleconverter, this lens poncho will be too short.

Q: 5. What is the purpose of the two plastic sliders on each of the shoulder straps?

A: The straps are adjustable.

Q: 6. Is this modular? Can I remove some of the pouches and keep just two pouches with the harness and belt? Thanks

A: The Newswear Men's Documentary Chestvest is not modular; you can't remove some of the pockets.

Q: 7. I am wondering whether the compartments are lightly padded?

A: Not really. The material is a nice thickness, but is not padded

Q: 8. I'm looking for the best option for me (mens documentary chestvest or Mens Digital Chestvest). I always carry two bodies MIII and X1, 3 lenses 24-70, 70-200, 17-55. Im a photojournalist. Which one is the best for me?

A: I would recommend the Digital Chestvest for your needs.

Q: 9. What are the dimensions of each pocket? Size wise, how does it compare to the Documentary Chestvest? & it is waterproof ( like the Doco version)

A: Dimensions: Two Side Pockets - 5 1/2" inches wide, 6" inches high, 3" inches deep Two Center Pockets- 5 1/2" inches wide, 9.5" inches high, 3" inches deep Exterior Dimensions- 26" inches wide, 10.5" inches high, 3" inches deep It is water resistant. That means that in a rainstorm the gear inside will stay dry during 30 minutes of constant rain. Not longer. For full waterproof, see Mens Foulweather Digital Chestvest.

Q: 10. I have a Nikkor 20-500mm telephoto lens and am wondering if this will hold it. I also have a kit and wide-angle lens, so the problem is if I switch to one of them what do I do with the Nikkor? I only have one camera body, so the holster systems I have seen are useless. The backpack I use carries all the lenses, but is to bulky. Thank you for your help!

A: Not sure if one that large will fit, Ive fit my canon 72-200 fine, but not sure how those 2 compare

[Belt Loop] This pouch is perfect to carry a small, but substantial, camera like the Panasonic LUMIX GX7. I can carry the 20mm/f1.7 and the 15mm/f1.7 plus the GX7 along with two extra batteries and filters.

[Yes] I ordered this bag thinking it would be great for certain lenses and an aid to changing lenses in the field. It is convenient for that purpose although the velcro is very strong which makes the action slightly cumbersome. The Lowepro lens changing bag works better. On the other hand, I had to keep this bag because it is a gem. It is softer and well padded so it hangs comfortably on your belt and only expands as necessary to hold anything that you need, be it a lens, flash or camera. I was particularly pleased to see that it will hold my Fuji X-E3 with the 27mm lens on it. The bag is well made with a velcro closure that is strong and secure. Unfortunately the belt loop is a dedicated loop and not a quick release and there is no provision for a shoulder strap, but I like this bag and think it will be very useful.

[Black] I liked it so much, that I purchased a second one for my other tamrac camera pouch. The 1 1/2 inch width is more comfortable and looks better than the wider belts.

[Belt Loop] I work with two body but like to cary a third lens (often a 17-40) and a spare battery for my camera and flash. This hold it all and is sturdy. Attaches to belt.
