Q: 1. Is this mic stereo?

Q: 2. I'm sorry, I should have clarified my last question - I was asking if the stud/spigot that mounts to the base clamp is 5/8" in width? I'm planning on using a different clamp with a 5/8" receiver. (BH#SACSGC) Thank you.

A: The base stud/spigot is not specified.

Q: 3. So with my black magic camera as long as i have the battery in the mic i won't need phantom power correct?

A: Yes, this is correct. It will run out quite quickly. Between 4-6 hours.

Q: 4. We need to mount this from a small hole in the middle of a desk. Does this have an option to put a bolt in from the bottom instead of the clamp?

A: This particular stand utilizes a C-clamp only. For a stand that could be screwed into a table, here's an option B&H # ROPSA1.

Q: 5. What battery does it take?

A: The Battery The unit uses an A23 battery which is located in the Sender. The positive end of the battery should be pointed inwards, away from the cap Twist the cap to turn the unit on or off.

Q: 6. Where is the XLR cable?

A: XLR cables are a required but not included accessory for this microphone. We list several cabling options under the ACCESSORIES tab for this microphone.

Q: 7. Can the XLR cable be easily removed?

A: Yes, the XLR cable can be removed (and replaced, if required), though it may not be an easy task.

Q: 8. I want to ceiling mount this. Will the springs/joints work with gravity working in the opposite direction?

A: This boom arm is not designed to be mounted from the ceiling. The clamp that attaches to the arm to the desk will not secure the arm to hang upside down. The clamp needs to be mounted upright so the arm inserts from above the clamp.

Q: 9. Will I have any issues using this with the Tascam 70D?

A: Nope. This has worked great for me with this combo. If you're using phantom power though, the 70D is a battery hog so I also use an external USB battery to power the 70D with phantom running the mic. I haven't tried the battery in the mic yet to compare results.

Q: 10. Is the arm's mounting spigot 5/8"?

A: Yes the Auray BA-XE4 Broadcast Arm with Integrated XLR Cable BH #AUBAXE4 includes a 5/8-27 Threaded Mic Stud.

[1 lb] I've been using the Canare XLR cables purchased from B&H for several years now. I setup and tear down EVERY DAY. Flexibility and lack of noise is excellent especially in rooms where a lot of other electronics are operating. Never a issue with crosstalk. Best of all the colors makes my setup easily repeatable, dependable. and FAST ! Got to love THAT !! Many thanks both to Canare & B&H. [Neutrik] Was looking for an affordable cable that came in any other color than standard black and these fit the bill beautifully. Having multiple colors makes set up, tear down and trouble shooting that much easier due to quickly being able to identify the cable sources by color instead of having to trace it back to the connection point. 5

[Brown] I didn't believe the hype either until I replaced my good cables with Canare. First, they are just supple and second, the quality of the sound did improve in the opinion of several of us. I can't imagine anyting else for serious audio work. 5

[Yes] I dont have much to say about the cable other than that is it well contructed and carries a good clean sound. I use it with my MXL 870 and Behringer 1204 mixer and I'm pleased with it. 5

[Neutrik] Sam Mallery who makes a lot of technical videos for B&H recommended these videos at his blog (what to get for an audio professional). The manufacture seems top notch and I love the ability to match mics to my mixer using color coded cables. And hey, who doesn't like a little color. Ask me in five years how durable they are, but the specs are top notch and the components name brand. I'd rather not worry about my cables on a shoot. I love the variety of lengths available. Short of soldering my own cables, this is the way to go. 5
