A: The Battery The unit uses an A23 battery which is located in the Sender. The positive end of the battery should be pointed inwards, away from the cap Twist the cap to turn the unit on or off.

Q: 5. Will I have any issues using this with the Tascam 70D?

A: Nope. This has worked great for me with this combo. If you're using phantom power though, the 70D is a battery hog so I also use an external USB battery to power the 70D with phantom running the mic. I haven't tried the battery in the mic yet to compare results.

Q: 6. Does the NTG-2 have a db pad? Like a -10db switch?

A: No, the RODE NTG2 Shotgun Microphone does not have a -10 dB pad, but it does have a switchable high-pass filter set at 80 Hz which can be used to remove low frequency noise that is not part of your intended source.

Q: 7. What is the minimum equipment required to get this working with my Panasonic GH4? Just and XLR to TRS 3.5mm converter?

A: Yes! If your using an on camera solution.

A: The Rode NTG-2 and and Videomic pro a great shotgun microphones. The NTG-2 features and XLR connection which would be ideal fro pro-users and the videomic is outfitted with a 3.5mm connection suitable for consumer to prosumer users.

[Yes] It's hard to go wrong with Canare Star Quad cables and Neutrik connectors, and there is little to say about them except they work as you would expect and the quality is high. You can find a lot of fancy cables that cost more, but they don't sound any different, that's all snake oil. Star Quad, Accept No Substitutes. 5

[Neutrik] recording studio connections. canare is fantastic quality. a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for. I use these mostly for pathing at this length, and need low noise, RF resistant, and low distortion at higher BD levels running from tube preamps. works like a charm. Just wish canare could make them a little less expensive. Price is only drawback from buying a lot more. 5

[21 AWG] I'm doing a series of round table discussions around the country with eight talent in each discussion session. Because i'm flying to each location, space and weight are at a premium so I'm using a Zoom F8 mixer, HOSA Little Brother 50-foot sub snake and eight dpa 4061 lavaliere microphones plus accessories and a slate. Everything has to fit in a carry in a small roller case and a small back pack so i don't have to check any bags. I'm using eight of the 10-foot Remote Audio cables to split off from the sub snake to feed the lavalieres. I carry a few-25 foot XLR cables as back up's if I need a little bit more reach. The 10-foot cables made all the difference in the world for space and weight constraints due to air travel. I've used Remote Audio cables for over a decade without a single cable failure. Remote Audio makes them tight and right. 5
