Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will I have any issues using this with the Tascam 70D?

A: Nope. This has worked great for me with this combo. If you're using phantom power though, the 70D is a battery hog so I also use an external USB battery to power the 70D with phantom running the mic. I haven't tried the battery in the mic yet to compare results.

Q: 2. I'm sorry, I should have clarified my last question - I was asking if the stud/spigot that mounts to the base clamp is 5/8" in width? I'm planning on using a different clamp with a 5/8" receiver. (BH#SACSGC) Thank you.

A: The base stud/spigot is not specified.

Q: 3. Does this come with a hotshoe mount?

A: The Rode NTG-2 will ship with a stand mount only. There are many shoe mounts available. The Auray DUSM1 is a compatible mount, and offers excellent shock protection. a href= http://bhpho.to/1gXv7Tw target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1gXv7Tw/a

Q: 4. How much weight does it support?

A: This broadcast arm has a payload of 1.8 lbs.

Q: 5. Where is the XLR cable?

A: XLR cables are a required but not included accessory for this microphone. We list several cabling options under the ACCESSORIES tab for this microphone.

Q: 6. Can I leave the AA battery in or do I need to remove it when I'm done recording?

A: You can leave a AA battery inside of the RODE NTG2 Shotgun Microphone as long as you will be using the mic again within a few days. Otherwise, it is always best to remove the battery from an electronic device that will not be used for a while in order to prevent damage from problems caused by the battery leaking.

Q: 7. Is the xlr to mini cord compatible with a 3.5mm jack? Like, could I just just use that cord and connect it straight to my camera through the microphone jack?

A: Yes that's what that cable is for. Mini is just another name for 3.5mm.

Q: 8. how do i change the battery in a NTG-2 microphone?

A: The bottom third of the microphone unscrews and the battery can be changed from in there.

Q: 9. Is the arm's mounting spigot 5/8"?

A: Yes the Auray BA-XE4 Broadcast Arm with Integrated XLR Cable BH #AUBAXE4 includes a 5/8-27 Threaded Mic Stud.

Q: 10. So with my black magic camera as long as i have the battery in the mic i won't need phantom power correct?

A: Yes, this is correct. It will run out quite quickly. Between 4-6 hours.

[Neutrik] I'm doing a series of round table discussions around the country with eight talent in each discussion session. Because i'm flying to each location, space and weight are at a premium so I'm using a Zoom F8 mixer, HOSA Little Brother 50-foot sub snake and eight dpa 4061 lavaliere microphones plus accessories and a slate. Everything has to fit in a carry in a small roller case and a small back pack so i don't have to check any bags. I'm using eight of the 10-foot Remote Audio cables to split off from the sub snake to feed the lavalieres. I carry a few-25 foot XLR cables as back up's if I need a little bit more reach. The 10-foot cables made all the difference in the world for space and weight constraints due to air travel. I've used Remote Audio cables for over a decade without a single cable failure. Remote Audio makes them tight and right.
