[0.055 lb] Had been looking for a cold shoe for my light stands to hold strobes. Do to the cost of good strobes, I looked a several shoes and then saw the Locking Accessory Shoe by RPS Lighting available at B&H. Purchased the locking shoe and it works great. (be patient, a little tight at first, just put in on and off a few times and it will fit fine.)Finally, no need to worry about my strobes hitting the floor. Lp

[0.055 lb] The is a sturdy item that holds the flash securely so it won't slip out. Since it has no metal, no need to worry about shorting out a connection.

[0.055 lb] Ordered these to use with my strobes after a plastic hot shoe failed and one of my flashes took a nose dive from a stair railing. Thankfully there was a Christmas tree below it to break its fall to the flash survived, but the plastic hot shoes are gone from my kit. This feel solid and works great. No-brainer of an upgrade.

[0.055 lb] This shoe makes mounting a speed light fast, but more importantly, very secure.  The speed light just slips into the slot and then, with a satisfying click, it is secure.  To remove, just push the side button and it slides off.  A good purchase.

[0.055 lb] I actually ordered a second one of these after seeing how securely they hold my flash. I have no worries about my flash slipping out. I keep one permanently attached to a DIY adapter for my macro flash. Love it!

[0.055 lb] This shoe looked big and chunky in the picrure , but I ordered it anyway. In reality it's not too big at all. It holds my barebulb flashes, which are heavier and speed lights quite securely. Its easy to remove the flash as will. I ordered 2 of these and will order 3 more. I really enjoy using them.

[0.055 lb] I can't remember the last time I sat a speedlight on my camera. It's always on a stand, even in the field. I had tried to use those little stands that come with the flash - with the peg screwed into the bottom to mount on the flash stand - but the plastic runners seem cheap, and have broken - also I've had my flash slide off when I thought it was screwed down secure. This seems to address both of those problems - thicker plastic (still... wish it was metal) and the locking mechanism to I don't worry about the flash falling off.

[0.055 lb] The RPS Lighting Locking Accessory Shoe (cold shoe) has a lot of names on the packaging. The shoe itself is stamped NiceFoto. The package has a brand name dlc and model number RS-3118, on the back of the package: Marketed by Dot Line Corp, but sold on B&H by RPS Lighting. I'm saying all this because I'm trying to place an additional order for more of these cold shoes and now I finally found this one again, so I can order more. I have a long bitter history of bad cold shoes. Either they are not really cold (i.e. they short-out the contacts of the flash), or the flash can't get a good grip on the shoe and there are flashes falling to the ground (and ending up in pieces). A couple extra bucks for a good quality cold shoe will save many hundreds of dollars in damaged equipment, and give you the confidence to use your off-camera flash effectively. The RPS/dlc/DotLine RS-3118 Locking Accessory Shoe fits the flash (or PocketWizard) shoe very firmly, and has a very positive secure tab that snaps into place, locking the flash into the shoe. When it comes time to release the flash (or the PocketWizard that protrudes backwards over the locking tab), just press the button on the *side* of this cold shoe and it releases very smoothly. You don't have to directly squeeze the locking tab itself, just press the release button on the side where it's much more easily accessible. It's made of plastic, but feels quite strong. You wouldn't want a cold shoe that wasn't made of plastic, would you? The cold shoe attaches directly to your lightstand or to a mini-ballhead on your lightstand (I recommend Oben BD-0, but there are other mini-ballheads out there) with a 1/4 inch thread and you don't need any tools to screw-in the cold-shoe, just thread it directly onto the 1/4 inch stud. It's simple, fast, secure, easy to put equipment onto and take off-of. Just a great little product.

[0.055 lb] I'm using this with a small Godox Mini Thinklite, which I use with a DIY macro bracket. The flash gets placed in all kinds of positions, so I wanted a sturdy locking shoe to hold it securely. So far, this is working perfectly, though it was a little tight to slide on initially.
