Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Once this is set up for a 107-inch roll, is there any way to use a shorter roll in the future or are you committing to one length of roll forever?

A: Yes, but it might be more work then you might what to do. Use an empty 107 roll and reroll onto the 107 roll the smaller size that you would like to use.

Q: 2. How many 8.5 by 11 photos will this hold?

A: While the number of images the Lineco Drop-Front Archival Box (8.6 x 11.1 x 3", Blue/Gray) may hold depends on the material and the thickness of said material the photos are printed on, the manufacturer states a rough estimate would be approximately 100 images alone (with no sleeves or interleaving tissue).

Q: 3. Does this kit attaches to a metal pole or the paper roll itself?

A: The paper roll itself.

Q: 4. I currently own the above set, I refinished my room and would rather not anchor these to the wall again. What do I need to turn these into the floor to ceiling varipole system?

A: I believe you would need everything except the actual brackets and off course the chain drives. I believe the clamps that attach to the brackets are screw mounted. If you go to the link below and then go to in the box I believe the pieces are listed with hyperlinks or call impact.

Q: 5. What are the dimensions of the wall hooks?

A: 12 1/2 tall 1 3/4 wide the stands are 1 1/2 wide 3 3/4 apart the top sticks out 5 1/4 middle 6 1/2 the bottom 8 in find a stud to screw these too will be heavy

Q: 6. What are the interior dimensions?

A: Archival Methods does not list the interior dimensions for the Archival Methods 06-502 Binder Box (1.5 O-Ring, Gray), but they do state that it should accommodate most standard 3-ring page formats up to 10.5 x 12.5 inches in size. Archival Methods states the exterior dimensions are 12.5 x 13.5 x 1.5 inches.

Q: 7. This system says it has a 22 lb load capacity, but each 9 foot roll weighs about 14 lbs. Will this system support 3 full rolls at once?

A: Yes i always keep 3 rolls attached. Just make sure you properly install the brackets to get the full strength.

Q: 8. Minimum and maximum core diameter please?

A: According to the manufacturer, the Varidrive will expand from 1/8 to 3 .

Q: 9. Does anyone have any input on this product? Will it work for 9 foot rolls? Thanks!

A: Yes, we use it for 9ft rolls in our studio (kept the paper on cardboard rolls). Very sturdy. Works great, cardboard tubes from the paper rolls start to warp over time (up for 8 months; could switch the paper over to a pvc pipe if warping gets worse). The only thing to look out for is paper doesn't stay rolled very well because there is nothing to keep it wound up. If you have high ceilings won't be an issue. It's a great system. for the price.

Q: 10. Does this kit come with hardware?

A: This kit does not come with wall anchors.

[1.2 lb] I purchased this Print File archival box and also a comparable Archival Methods box. The Print File board material is twice as thick as the Archival Methods product, and feels much sturdier. The construction is very good on both.

[1.2 lb] I print two or more times a week and these are perfect for storing the prints I don't mat right away!
