The Allen & Heath ME-1 Personal Monitor Mixeris designed to give individual musicians, performers, and presenters the freedom to control their own tailored monitor mixes for use on stage or in houses of worship, rehearsal rooms, studios, conferences, or live events.

This standalone digital personal mixer receives input from up to 40 sources via a single CAT5 cable (sold separately) from the main console (sold separately) and mixes these to a stereo and mono output to drive headphones, in-ear monitors, loudspeakers, or other monitoring devices over 3.5mm or 1/4" outputs. The mixer features a simple user interface with intuitive, clear visual feedback, and custom naming system.

This mixer is the cornerstone of the ME Personal Mixing System (sold separately) and is ready to use with the Allen & Heath iLive and GLD series Digital Mixers. It is complemented by the ME-U Hub (sold separately), which opens up the benefits of ME to users of other professional digital mixers via the Dante AVB-Ready Audio Networking Solution, EtherSound Audio Network Card, or MADI Audio Plug-In Card (all sold separately).

It also has an Aviom compatibility mode for use with Aviom Pro16 systems. You can eliminate the need to use up main console buses by grouping the 40 channels within the mixer to simplify control for each musician. You can assign as few or as many of the 16 keys as needed to control the mix.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a good digital mixer to start with if you aren't familiar with a digital mixer? Do you have to have a computer or I pad to use it?

A: Our church uses the Qu-16 and we are looking at upgrading to the Qu-24. I have never used a digital mixer until I started helping out with the sound hardware this year and I found that I could watch all the YouTube video about this product line and actually use the mixer. Are their functions that I don’t know how to use, yes! But I’ve learned enough to control the sound in our church while using 6 fixed mics, and 16 channel snake. We can’t use all the snake inputs with only 16 channels, but the QU-24 will take care of that. I have unique EQ, gates and compression on the channels as needed and scenes set up for 6 different service types. So yes moving from analog to digital has worked well for me. And the iPad application is fantastic. We don’t have anyone in the sound room, just the iPad out with the choir director!

Q: 2. Does it work for presonus studiolive 32cs series iii?

A: This case will not work, because it is too small for a 32-channel mixer. I would recommend the Gator Cases G-Tour Series ATA Wood Flight Case for Presonus StudioLive 32III Mixer, B&H # GATRPRSL323N.

Q: 3. Can we operate it with battery in the field?

A: The Allen & Heath CQ-12T Compact 12-Channel Digital Mixer with Touchscreen is not battery-powered.

Q: 4. Hello;Could it be used as a midi controller with Pro Tools ?

A: The Qu-24C transmits and receives MIDI via USB or the Ethernet connection. It can be mapped to Pro Tools or similar DAW's for control.

Q: 5. Bluetooth Use. The Bluetooth is only receiving audio signal or it can connect with Bluetooth speakers in the room?

A: The Allen & Heath CQ-12T Compact 12-Channel Digital Mixer with Touchscreen cannot be connected to Bluetooth speakers. Its Bluetooth audio capability is for input only.

Q: 6. Do u guys have a case for ALLEN &HEALTH 12 FX ZED

A: Sorry, cases are not offered for ZED mixers. However, if you'd like to have a case manufacturer build a custom case, the dimensions of the mixers are found in our user guides. Go to:https://www.allen-heath.com/media/AP7085_3-ZED12FX_ZED16FX_ZED22FX-User-Guide-Issue-3.pdf. Thanks.

Q: 7. Can I use a laptop instead of a tablet?

A: Yes, the companion app for the Allen & Heath CQ-20B Ultracompact 20-Channel Digital Mixer (Rackmount/Stagebox) can be used on a laptop or desktop computer.

Q: 8. How can we use 4 speakers from the L&R main outs for our school auditorium? We currently use two powered PA speakers with the mixer, but we need two more PA speakers.

A: Your two existing speakers will most likely have a line output or "thru" connection on the back that will allow you to connect the output from one speaker to the input on an additional powered speaker. So you can easily expand your existing setup by daisy-chaining more speakers on the left and right sides. As long as you are connecting powered speakers, you can daisy chain as many speakers as desired.

Q: 9. Wgat us the latency while using as an audio interface?

A: The system latency for the Allen & Heath CQ-20B Digital Mixer is rated at less than 0.7 milliseconds from the local mic input to the main XLR output, with all processing in or out.

Q: 10. Does this board have motorized preamps?

A: No, preamps are not motorized, the linear faders are motorized.

[4.8 lb] Good quality, very thin and lightweight like parachute fabric or nylon. Inside of cover is silver seems like it would be good to prevent a liquid spill but not dropping an object on it. $80.00 seems a little strong however you have to have it to protect your investment! Plus it has the Logo on it..... Just wish it was little thicker material...... Tj Picozzi

[4.8 lb] Not only protects the mixer from dust, but also hides the buttons and sliders from curious little fingers

[4.8 lb] After purchasing a mew Allen & Heath mixer it seemed very prudent to get a cover to protect it and make it last as long as possible, and this cover does the trick. It is made specially for this mixer so it fits beautifully! I would recommend this cover for anyone that has this mixer.
