Q: 1. Would this work with a converter to USB-A, or something like that? It's 35USD cheaper than the Type-A option, more future proof, and my computer has no Type-C ports.

A: We have not performed such a test, but we would not recommend it with a converter.

Q: 2. Does this cable work with a black magic 6k pro? I'd like to control certain settings from my monitor when I am on a gimbal or easy rig.

A: No, the Atomos USB Type-C to Serial LANC Calibration Cable (13") is incompatible with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (Canon EF) B&H # BL6KPKCAMP MFR # CINECAMPOCHDEF06P for control.

Q: 3. Is there any difference between the USB-C and USB-A? I'm looking to use it for my Atomos Ninja V for color calibration. Will the USB-C version work with the X-Rite Pro for this purpose?

A: Both cables have the same function, the only difference is the USB type. Yes, the USB-C version will work with the X-Rite Pro.

Q: 4. Will this work with the Small rig side handle with rec button and the remote input in the FS7?

[USB 2.0, RS-232] Bought this way back in 2013 for use with my college computer program which involved a lot of network device configuration (primarily with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls).

Never had an issue with this adapter functioning as intended. It worked reliably and it's really durable considering I've had it knotted in a ball, and stored in a tight coil but it still works.

It's almost 4 years later and I have no concerns about this thing lasting me a decade or above.

Never did use the parallel portion. If there's any complaint I have, it's that it feels a little cheap since it's just plastic, and it looks very plain with just the grey. Making it like a black matte plastic like the many video adapters, and adding the company logo would be a nice change.

[USB 2.0, RS-232] I used this connect a laptop with no RS-232 ports to a ham radio that had a DB-9 connector on it. They connected instantly and I've had zero problem over the past several weeks that I've been using it.

[USB 2.0, RS-232] We used this cable to connect a computer to a motor controller. A null modem was required in addition to this cable, as you would expect. Works great.
