$629.97 $881.96

The Rotolight RL48 Interview Kit V2 - Professional Lighting Solutioncenters on two portable LED ring lights that you can mount in various setups around your subject. Two included stands enable mounting on shoe adapters and on 1/4" studs. Using one stand, you can attach one light on your camera's shoe mount and the other on a tripod, lighting stand, pole or other compatible support accessory. The lights also slide right onto most shotgun mics.

Each light features 48 grade-A LED bulbs and delivers an 80W equivalent intensity in a 110° beam angle. You can get the lights as close to your subject as 1.5". Color temperature is fixed at 5600K daylight, and using included filters you can adjust the temperature to 6300K, 4100K and 3200K. You also get filters for diffusion, color and cosmetic effects, and for dimming brightness over a range of 1.5 aperture stops. The filters insert into holders inside the lights. In all you get 24 LEE filters, two packs of 7 that come with each light, and a pack of 10 included with the kit. The lights each power by three optional AA batteries for up to four continuous hours.

The kit also includes a belt-pouch designed with compartments and pockets to hold both lights, 6 batteries, one stand and a smart-phone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this only work with batteries? Can it be plugged in instead?

A: I am sorry, but we are not aware of an AC power supply that is compatible with these lights.

Q: 2. I have a question about the Photo metrics. What is the lux output levels of these lights at full power?

A: At a distance of 3 feet, the IB508-v2 hits 2186 lux at 3200K and 2130 lux at 5600K. The iLED312-v2 reads 716 lux at 3200K and 723 lux at 5600K at 3 feet.

Q: 3. How much does the complete kit weigh in kg?

A: Around 7kg

Q: 4. How tall is the stand in the Rotolight Video Conferencing Kit?

A: The stand has a max height of 15.5" and a minimum height of 10". Here is a link to the light stands listing on our website: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1600522-REG/rotolight_rl_desktop_ls_rotolight_desktop_light_stand.html

Q: 5. Can these be used as a slave? I have White Lightning strobes that are triggered with Pocket Wizards. I wanted to add these for side kickers/hair lights. Thanks!

A: Yes. Via 3.5 remote port. The unit can also be controlled by third party commander such as the following units. Godox X1T (use with the Godox X1R receiver) Pixel King Pro - Sony, Canon, Nikon Flashpoint R2 Phottix ODIN II (HSS) – Canon, Nikon, Sony PocketWizard (HSS) : FlexTT5, and FlexTT6 support High Speed Sync (HSS) for Canon and FP Sync for Nikon. Cactus VI II (HSS) : Fuji, Canon, Nikon, Pentax,Olympus, Panasonic

Q: 6. Do these lights come with the remote to dial up and down their power? Also do the light have tilt capability in the connection that goes on the stand?

A: These lights do not include any wireless remotes like our IFB or IFD lights, however local dimming and color temperature control is on the back of each light with a rotary knob and a LCD display. The IB508-V2 includes an adjustable light stand adapter which allows for tilt and each iLED312-v2 includes a ball head. All 3 lights can be tilted when using the stands and mounting accessories included in the kit.

Q: 7. Will this work with the Anova Pro 3?

A: The Rotolight Softbox Kit for Anova V1 / V2 / Pro / Pro 2 is not compatible with the Anova Pro 3.

Q: 8. What's the difference between this kit & iLED312-v2 3-Point Light Kit 3-Point for Video interview. It will be 70% of the time be indoor setup with normal background, & 30% of the time approx. Chromakey (greenscreen). Which would you recommend & why.

A: I think the smaller kit will work fine for single interviews. However, I do a lot of two-person interviews, so the one larger instrument is needed for the broader coverage.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Canon 1D?

A: Yes the C Arm will give you enough clearance for the 1D. Also the Follow Focus and Matte Box are height adjustable!

Q: 10. In the picture it shows two 312's and one 508. While the description is opposite. Is the picture wrong or description?

A: Unfortunately, the kit seems to have the wrong description on our site and we thank you for pointing this out to us. As per Ikans website, kit number IBK23150-v3 would include 2x iLED312 V2 units and 1x IB508-v2 unit. We will put in a request to have the description updated on our site. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

[3x AA] It all started with the first iteration of this compact form for me. Now the Neo 3. What is possible with the over 2000 color gel options, the work flow enhancements leaves me in awe. Jpegs look so good SOOC, it's like my raw files are now a back up option for fewer and fewer files that need that extra work to touch up. This has cut my turn around time from weeks to a few days. Could not ask for more. Work Smarter, Work efficient and have fun.

[3x AA] This is perfect for one-on-one interview. There are actually two cases that come with this kit. One is for the stands and the other is for everything else. It's a bit more than what I was expecting since I typically work with very small crews, but it's still keeping the gear to a minimum while having three quality lights to light a good interview shot. The option for changing the color temperature on all of these lights is also a nice feature.

[2 lb] Just using the light for a limited time, everything worked like it should. Only feature didn't try was the wireless flash, but will try it when I get a wireless transmitter.

[2 lb] Lightweight, but not fragile, this stand is perfect for the Rotolight Neo, and I makes for a useful, portable lighting setup.

[3x AA] Handy even outside during the day. That’s how bright it is. Will fill in shadows a bit to help reduce contrast: awesome in the shade or under clouds to add just a bit of pop. Kills it at night. Two of these on stands and you’re ready. Fly one on a boom pole off of a stand and dim it down to 1% for a nice separation light. I like that it will dim down to next to nothing, match color temps in the 60s, 70s, and even 85, plus it’s a great combination of much lighter and brighter than most of the Dracast lights and lkan lights I’ve used. At $200 to $300 it’s a bargain, they are obviously looking to saturate the market with these. I sometimes dial up 600k or 1k to make it look just a tad whiter - because it reproduces warmer colors so well. Fan noise would only be a concern in small rooms or on very quiet sets shooting softer dialogue: for ENG, especially outside and five feet from the talent, it’s no problem. Not sure how well it works as a strobe, but as a continuous light source it’s very good. Used it last night and was reminded of how great it is! Can’t wait to add a second NEO3 (or get two of the AOES 2’s) in my kit.

[2 lb] This is a super product. We are infrequent video makers, and do not need a permanent setup. This allows us great flexibility.

[2 lb] I have 4 Neo 2s, and while they are OK, and I like the AA battery implementation, the Neo3 outclasses it in every way. Much more power, much more sophisticated control layout, and easier implementation even without Ap controls....which work quite well as well. In emergency, I can use them as continuous light source either for focusing, or even exposure with ISO 2500, f4, 1/250 sec into umbrella at about 6 feet from subject and two lights. In candid photo situations shooting individual or groups in convention settings at 10--15 feet with flash mode I can use 800-1000 ISO f2, 1/200 sec and get good results as direct flash held manually above the camera. While no where near the power of speedlights, with current camera's capabilities to shoot at higher ISO, they are definitely usable. You must use guide number methods as there is no TTL function, and with units I use generic radio remotes to fire them from camera mounted trigger units. One note, is that flash meters do not appear to read the flash output from these units or the Neo2, so experimentation with exposures and subsequent usage of guide numbers will still offer quick adjustment of aperture to control exposures as long as you are shooting within about 20 feet of your subjects, and have fast glass. The massive number of shots on a battery charge and very fast recycle means no HVP needed for extended shooting.

[3x AA] I have used Rotolight Neos and Neo 2s for several years now... Neo 2s give off diffuse light across the temperature and intensity ranges of the light... Great for a lot of applications...
