The Dyna-Elastic, dual-articulating support arm is machined from T6 aluminum and allows for smooth camera booming and position adjustments. The 18 precision, double-shielded radial bearings produce minimal friction which allows the arm to boom and pivot smoothly and quietly. Four titanium extension springs give the support arm its lifting power. The spring tension is adjustable to accommodate cameras of varying weights. The arm can support a maximum load of 30 lb. It is also configurable for left or right-handed use.

The strong and lightweight sled is designed to hold cameras from 10 to 20 lb. It is comprised of a camera balance platform, a 3-axis gimbal, a dynamic base platform, and a telescoping center post.

Incorporates a quick release, drop-in dovetail camera plate for quickly attaching or removing your camera. Fine-tuning control knobs allow you to adjust the platform front-to-back and side-to-side, for obtaining horizontal balance.

The 3-axis gimbal offers several adjustable, axis convergence controls and allows all three axes to intersect for proper operational alignment. Change the location of the gimbal on the central post for quick adjustment of vertical balance. The gimbal features an ergonomically designed curved handle and a gimbal tube with a tight, machined knurled texture.

Adjust the system's dynamic balance and increase or decrease the system's rotational pan inertia using a dynamic base platform. The platform comes with one V-mount battery plate and a BNX to BNC/RCA video cable.

The telescoping center post allows you to adjust the sled's length and the position of an optional LCD monitor and battery.

The support vest distributes the weight of the system across your shoulders, back, and hips. The vest is adjustable to fit operators of different sizes and features EVA foam padding for added comfort. The quick release buckles allow the vest to be easily removed. The vest incorporates a Trimming Mechanism and arm-to-vest connector that allows the angle of the support arm to be adjusted. This lets you neutralize the weight of the arm relative to your body's center of gravity. The support arm can be attached and removed for the vest without adjusting your trim settings.

The docking bracket attaches to a c-stand and allows you to securely rest and balance your X-20 system and camera while you change batteries and accessories, or when the system is not in use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi Would this work with my Lumix GX8 with 14-45mm lens?

A: Yes you can. The XR-Pro has a load capacity between 0 to 10 pounds. You will be able to balance a lighter load such as the Lumix GX8 with a 14-45mm lens.

Q: 2. Will this work with a C300 or an FS7?

A: This stabilizer has a load capacity up to 10 pounds. The Sony FS7 is 9.9 pounds before you add a lens, it will not work on this stabilizer. However the C300 weighs around 6 pounds, before a lens, and you can even strip it down a bit for it to weight less. It will be possible to use this stabilizer with the C300, if you keep the total weight under 10 pounds.

Q: 3. Hey, is this usable for lumix lx 100? 393g. and is it easy to carry around?

A: Yes

Q: 4. What is the difference in this and the flycam redking

A: The Glidecam is the brand that created this stabilizer style.

Q: 5. Can some tell me the difference between the xr-pro and the hd2000? Using a canon 80d 18-135mm .. thanks

A: The principal difference between the two is the payload capacity. The XR-PRO can carry 10 lbs and the HD2000 can do 2-6 lbs. Your Canon 80D with a 18-135mm lens is well within the capability of the HD2000.

Q: 6. Will this work for a GH7? I know it's pretty light and this is my first Glidecam purchase.

A: Yes it should. The XR-Pro has a load capacity between 0 to 10 pounds, you are able to use light weight cameras with this stabilizer.

Q: 7. I have GH4 and a cage for it as well. i know balancing will be an issue if I mount to the cage. Can I use this with a 7 inch monitor mounted to the base? a freeworld monitor to be exact.

A: Almost from the beginning when Garret Brown invented the Steadicam, the monitor has been mounted at the base. This make complete sense because you can be situationally aware of where your feet are going. We feel you should not have any particular issues here since the camera, the cage and the monitor do not exceed the weight capacity of the rig. You should be able to balance. If you do have issues, do contact us. provideo@bhphoto.com

Q: 8. Can you shoot this inverted for low shots?

A: Yes, just invert post at gimbal and shoot low mode

Q: 9. How well will this balance with a C100 Mii?

A: It will balance perfectly. Just be patient for balancing is the single most frustrating procedure new users encounter. Glidecam has several videos on how to do this.

Q: 10. Is the top cheese plate removable? If so, does it have a 3/8 -16 thread so I can attach my own quick release, and shave weight from the top? Thanks!

A: The plate is removable, you can attach your own plate - any brand any size- Keep in mind the least weight, the longer you would handle your camera.

[Vest System] This seems like a great stabilizer so far. I've only used it a few times but it works as expected creating smooth walking or running shots that is a great improvement over the shoulder rig I was using. Because it's a very stripped down stabilizer that lacks the fine tuning features of the other Glidecam products, it is pretty time consuming to stabilize the first time. I would definitely recommend using a light stand (or something similar) to rest the rig on while stabilizing. I added a quick release plate with bubble levels which also greatly helps. It takes a good bit of practice to use well, but that's all stabilizers. For the price, an incredible stabilizer. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

[2] I am a video producer doing mostly corporate and wedding videos. I got the GlideCam HD-2000 to bring in some more flair that you just can't get on sticks. So far I am loving it. It has a profesional look, a great feel, and results in beautiful clean, smooth footage. There is definatley a learning curve to the GlideCam, but if you are willing to take the time there are a ton of resources to help get you going. I am using it with a Canon T2i. Striped down it is actually a bit light for this rig, but with the battery grip loaded with 2 bateries, it works great, and gives me room to add in my zoom or on camera lighting without maxing the rig. I think the only downside is the learning curve. Don't buy this if you want something ready to use on set out of the box, but that said, don't buy any stabilizer if that's what you expect. This is the rig to buy for sure. I would recomend a Quick Release Plate so you can jump from your sticks to the GlideCam quickly.

[Dovetail Plate] use it with video camera, not a DSLR, it takes watching how to videos & baby step adjustments, once you balance, it's wonderful.

[26 x 18.5 x 14"] I'm a filmmaker and the Glidecam XR-Pro is making my films so much better! The stabilized shots make everything so much better and smoother! Definitely worth it!

[Vest System] I got this because my Ronin-M has to be sent back for service. Why? Because some water splashed on one of the gimbal motors. Yes, I wasn't supposed to be filming at the beach, and thought I would be careful enough with it. Anyhow, while the Ronin flies to Germany or China for DJI repair, I needed something in the meantime and saw the new XR-PRO. For less than the cost of a new gimbal motor, I could have a stable rig for my GH4 + 12-40 f/2.8 + RODE mic. Not bad. I got it, and after watching a few YouTube videos on how to stabilize it - it is an absolute peach to work with. So much easier to work with than the Ronin - and I have far more control over the look of a shot than the Ronin. It also is easier to cart around without needing an assistant to bring the Ronin stand for me everywhere I needed to set down the Ronin. It also is at a more natural height for shots, and allows me to see the monitor on my GH4 naturally without needing a remote monitor feed like I do on my Ronin. So far, very much enjoying the Glidecam and recommend it - particularly at this price point!

[Aluminum] I use this with a Canon 7d for video. The setup was straight-forward and easy to understand (though I did track down some instructional videos on Vimeo). Fine tuning takes some time, but once it is dialed in, it is so smooth. I'm still practicing with using it (and building up more forearm strength in the process), but look forward to get it in on some projects soon.

[2] The headline pretty much says it all. I use it for that disconnected, floaty shot that usually eliminates any footprint that might come with a handheld. Read the manual, look up the tutorial, and practice with it. It'll serve as a fair tool.
