The 2.6x44 eXact Precision Gen I Night Vision Monocular Kit from Bering Optics is a close-range optic for handheld or recreational shooting use in low light or complete darkness. This NVD is equipped with a Gen 1 intensifier tube that produces 35 lp/mm resolution and features automatic cut-off circuitry that protects the tube and operator's eye by deactivating the NVD upon detecting excessive light levels. An included weapon mount allows this NVD to clamp onto a Weaver rail for cowitnessing with reflex or iron sights.

The eXact Precision lens system has 2.6x magnification and f/1.2 light gathering ability that enables adequate light transmission for effective targeting under moonlight. Additionally, this lens system has a wide 20° angle of view and a manual focus objective that can be focused to within five feet. For indoor use or when operating under heavy cloud cover, the monocular's built-in 25mW infrared illuminator is capable of lighting a subject up to 55 yd away. An accessory side rail supports an additional tactical accessory, such as a long-range IR illuminator or laser aiming device. An IPX4-compliant, water-sealed housing makes the eXact Precision NVD ready to perform in light rain, high humidity, and even freezing temperatures.

A: Sorry, but the 0HD-20TC-EX1 cannot be mounted on the the PXW-X180 for it has a bayonet mount and the camcorder does not. We would suggest the Raynox HDP-9000EX 1.8x High Definition Telephoto Conversion Lens B&H # RAHDP9000EX. You will need this adapter step-down ring. Ewa-Marine 72-82mm Lens Step-Up Ring B&H # EWRA7282. This lens weighs 29.1 oz (825g) so a 15mm LWS (Lightweight Support System) is recommended as well as a robust tripod and video head. The zoom magnification of the Sony PXW-X180 25x zoom is demanding as is and with the Raynox it will be 1.8x more so. a strong tripod is essential for keeping the image steady. The slightest touch, wind or ground vibration will affect the image otherwise.

Q: 2. Will this work to extend lenses on a JVC GYHM850?

A: I'm afraid not. This is for 2/3 Bayonet Mounts, the HM850 is a 1/3 mount.

A: The Century Precision Optics 0.75x Wide Angle Converter Lens for Panasonic HVX200 (Zoom Through) only fits lenses with a bayonet directly to HVX200 lens. A: The Panasonic DVX200 has a filter thread of 72mm and the HVX200 has a 82mm. It would not work with the DVX200. Q: 5. Apparently the clamp mount can unthread from the unit, what is the diameter of the native thread on the adapter?

A: It appears that the non-threaded clamp measures 93mm. If you have a lens that size or have a step up ring from a lens to 93mm, you can clamp on this wide angle adapter. Most likely you will need a step up ring such as the one attached here.

Q: 6. Does this adapter only work with camcorders or can it also be used with an interchangeable lens system?

A: It is designed with camcorders in mind.

Q: 7. Does the picture stay in focus down the zoom range

A: This is best for for shooting situations in which zooming need is minimized for this is a partial zoom adapter. It will allow zooming only from wide angle to mid-range and you must use auto focus mode. Also note: it has a bayonet mount meant for attaching it directly to the lens of the Sony HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270U.

A: We have not tried this configuration and knowing what we do about the fine Century Precision product line, we would doubt this is possible. [1x Gen 1] After researching & reading reveiws I must agree that this product does what it is advertised to do.If it were waterproof & had a place to connect a strap I would give it a A++. Seems rugged enough, time will tell. For now way to go Night Owl optics! Box says made in the USA. Can't be it beat for the money.... 5

[15 mm] This is a my first Night Vision, I can not say if it is better or worse than others, but I can say that it works very well, perfect size to take it wherever you go, and it is also very nice.Plus the AA batteries are very easy to find Thank you BH. 5

[93%] Highly sensitive and the exposure control (FPS) a real plus. Battery compartment will close only with difficulty over Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries, since Alkaline are slightly less in diameter, and the tolerances on the battery compartment are tight. Unbeatable for the price. 5

[1x Gen 1] Dont expect military grade for this price, but its actually well build, has several good features, ease of use, pretty good range and picture quality. I have now used it for a month under different conditions and so far it surpass my expectations. The video output is also a nice feature and function well. The enclosed manual is a lousy print. Better download the electronic version and keep it for reference in your computer, iphone, ipad or whatever pdf reader source you have. I however identified a few minor improvement options: 1. Would be good if iGen could enclose just a normal cheap plastic lens cap for the main lens as well as the IR. The metal pin-hole cap is too complicated to unscrew or add as a standard lens cap if its pitch dark (and where you don't need it), but wanna protect the lens(es) before you put it in your pocket. OK, I found one in my old lens-cap-collection. 2. Its not possible to add a neck strap and since the unit is somewhat heavy to dump in the nearest pocket, such would be convenient too. 5

[Yes, Built-In] This is so much clearer than my older yukon gen1. The adjustments are easy and the picture is very clear. The best feature is how you can adjust the picture brightness so your vison won't be screwed up after you put the nv down. I am extremely satisfied. 5

[59mm f/1.2] This really is comparable to Gen 2 night vision. Once you get used to the controls and focusing the scope, it is quite easy to view things in the dark. I found the white and black color scheme to be the best when it comes to recognizing animals in the dark. Also, you don't have to worry about accidentally pointing the scope at a bright light and ruining the device like some regular night vision. Definitely a good deal if you need to see in low light conditions. One of my friends used it to look up at the sky and could see many more stars and satellites than were visible with the naked eye. You won't be disappointed with this scope. 5

[5' / 1.5 m] The IGen 20/20 does just what it advertises. It certainly matches the generation 2 model and in some aspects surpasses it with its border to border clarity and vision without the IR emitter on a full moon night. [6 mm] I use this NV on the Arizona Border doing Civilian Border Watches and it performs very well. I have used Gen 1,2, &3 and I really prefer the Digital. You don't have to worry about bright lights, and the black & white mode shows better detail to me. The auto IR mode works great. In 1/4 moonlight and above you can turn the IR off. 5

[Yes, Built-In] I cannot tell you how amazing this monocular is. I am speechless. It is worth 3 times more for what you get. Just buy it, you will not be disappointed. Thank you who ever made this. Also have to say B&H are super professional. Enquired about monocular and got a reply that same day and also a invoice set up if I wanted to purchase it. I was so impress dealing with B&H. [2.6x] I have use 2X other types of night vision. 1st for USD $60 less in price and 2nd USD $20 more in price. The 1st: night vision stoped on 184m and the 2nd: 290m. The iGen 20/20 can see more than 100yards and have a clear screen edge to edge and is far beter than the other one's I tested. 5
