The 350mm RC KC Active Extension Tube from Schoeps is a Colette Active Extension Tube that terminates in a connector mounted on a flexible, 1.64’ (0.5m) Colette cable. This connector is screwed onto the microphone amplifier, which can then be mounted on the vertical support rod with a clamp or inserted into the cable path at a hidden position.

This arrangement is most useful when working in close quarters, where inadvertent movement at the rear of the microphone stand can disturb the alignment, or where the microphone amplifier body and cable connector can be objectionable and when the arrangement is not frequently changed.

The cable length should not exceed what is necessary, in order to avoid possible interference. This problem can be avoided by using a similar setup with a CCM-L microphone (sold separately).

Q: 1. Is this extension tube compatible with the Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens (not the L series)? I'll be using it on a Canon 5D Mark III

A: Yes it is. Actually I also own a Canon 100mm Macro no L series too and I use two extension tubes with it. However you might sacrifice a little bit of sharpness when using two of them, and the depth of view is very shallow at 2.8, so you may have to shoot at very small appertures to have a better depth of view. And with this, you'll have to use a flash gun to iluminate the subject, but here is one tip: if you already own a 430 EX, 580EX or any othe flashgun, just attach a piece of white blank paper at it to bounce the light from above. This creates enough light to expose the subjects and very soft and defuse light making it very natural. You can check my instagram @dvl80 for some samples of macro with the settings I'm mentioning. Regards!Davi

Q: 2. Can this be used with the Canon EF-S 10-18 f/4.5-f/5.6 IS STM lens at 10 mm f/4.5 without vignetting?

A: There was no vignetting from my tests using the extension tube, 10-18mm lens and a 90D.

Q: 3. What kind of results can one expect using Canon's 70-300L? How much closer is focusing improved?

A: Basically you will use this so your Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM Lens will be able to focus closer than the lens's native close focusing distance of 3.94' / 1.2 m. We were not able to find information as to how much closer but we would guess that bout 2' would not be unreasonable. People with telephoto lenses by this to do exactly this, get a closer focusing distance. This can be an excellent too.

Q: 4. Can I attach this and than use ef 1.4x + ef 2x extenders combined, mounted on a ef 300mm 2.8?

A: Unfortunately, Canon EF Extenders and Canon Extension tubes cannot be combined.

Q: 5. Is it work on canon eos 70d

A: The Viltrox Automatic Extension Tube Set for Canon EF is compatible with the Canon EOS 70D.

Q: 6. I use a 70-200 2.8 with a 2X iii to get close ups, would the 25ii be better or worse?

A: If you are doing macro shots, it could be very useful. I believe that you could combine it with the 2x for even closer shots, but am not sure... I have the 1.4x.

Q: 7. Mine doesn't seem to work. Tried it with a EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro L series and a Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L. Couldn't get it to focus no matter what I tried. What am I doing wrong?

A: It adjusts your backfocus to allow for a macro image. You will find that with a zoom, you can use your zoom control to help focus - it will change your focal plane. For fixed focal length lenses, you have to physically move to find the distance at which the target will be in focus, almost like you are using a lens with a nearly fixed focal distance. That's because you shifted the lens out of the focus plane

Q: 8. Hi. Will this ring mantain AF as well IS on Canon EF IS lenses?

A: The extension tube maintains all lens functions. Also, exposure is automatic in modes such as AE.

Q: 9. Sony 7

A: This product is for use with Canon EF mount lenses and not for Sony a7 series cameras.

Q: 10. Please help! I have Canon EF-S 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens and my question is: Can I use this Canon Extension Tube EF 12 II to Use my EF-S lens with my EF mount Camera?

A: Everything should fit together but I cannot guarantee image quality, no light loss and or if there would be vignetting. That is something that you would have test.

[13.78" (350 mm)] Hi everyone, this extension tube is the right size, using together with the 50-110 to shoot small products, no micro/macro, but small cups, boxes, parfums, etc... The DOF decreases a lot, but with more lighing you can improve it. Good for beauty and portrait photography too. Go for it! Cezr Motta

[Matte gray (G)] Great addition to my 50mm Macro lens. Creepy critters get even creepier with this very close focus. Good build, and solid fit. Auto-focus does not work in most instances. Recommend manual focus anyway for very close pictures.

[13.78" (350 mm)] On a Hasselblad H4D-50 with a 100mm lens, this extension tube is ideal for close-up photography. For example, with the lens set at f11, a rose is exactly in focus, with all in front or behind, nicely bokehed.

[13.78" (350 mm)] I bought this to breath some new life into my old camera without having to shell out for a separate lens. It works! All lens power functions work. Focusing is tricky, but should be done manually anyway in macro photography. The only thing I have noticed is that I have to move my lens so close to the subject that it is almost impossible to avoid casting a shadow. I am starting to experiment with using my hot shoe flash off camera to illuminate subjects, but will probably just end up buying a dedicated macro flash unit.

[Matte gray (G)] I needed a fairly cheap but high quality tool for some occasional closeup photography. The Hasselblad extension tube proved to be right.
