The 700mm RC KC Active Extension Tube from Schoeps is a Colette Active Extension Tube that terminates in a connector mounted on a flexible, 1.64’ (0.5m) Colette cable. This connector is screwed onto the microphone amplifier, which can then be mounted on the vertical support rod with a clamp or inserted into the cable path at a hidden position.

This arrangement is most useful when working in close quarters, where inadvertent movement at the rear of the microphone stand can disturb the alignment, or where the microphone amplifier body and cable connector can be objectionable and when the arrangement is not frequently changed.

The cable length should not exceed what is necessary, in order to avoid possible interference. This problem can be avoided by using a similar setup with a CCM-L microphone (sold separately).

A: If you are doing macro shots, it could be very useful. I believe that you could combine it with the 2x for even closer shots, but am not sure... I have the 1.4x.

A: It adjusts your backfocus to allow for a macro image. You will find that with a zoom, you can use your zoom control to help focus - it will change your focal plane. For fixed focal length lenses, you have to physically move to find the distance at which the target will be in focus, almost like you are using a lens with a nearly fixed focal distance. That's because you shifted the lens out of the focus plane

A: Yes it will work but for focusing you have to be super close to your subject and the autofocus hunts a lot. If anything I would use this combo for stationary manual macro focusing only.
